FD credit limit - seems very high

Options
Mr purplepatch had an old classic visa card. He phoned them and asked whether he could have the 0% on BTs deal and they said yes, no prob, and said they would send him a new card and agreed to a £17k limit over the phone. We were expecting him to get a gold card as a replacement, but today another classic card turned up.

He's just logged into the website to see if there is the possibility of increasing the limit and it says he can have another £12,200 immediately, ie £29,200 in total.

That sounds ridiculously high. Should we take the lot and stooze it? Apart from anything I'm not sure how we would do it without it looking really dodgy as FD only let you have one chance at BTing, then they charge. So would have to BT to egg and from there SBT to the current account. Surely the amount would look really odd as the egg limit is only £12k so even if we did the egg £12k first, then £29.2k from fd to egg, it would make the egg card go £17.2k in credit.

Can anyone offer any advice. This is our first stooze and whilst we want to maximise our earnings, this seems a bit daunting!

I once put my Egg card £22k in credit and another time £25k (from First Direct). When I passed it on I got a phone call from Egg just checking that it was really me that authorised the transfer, but a simple "yes" was all it took for it to go through.

If you are worried then you could send some of it via another card. FD only let you transfer free to any card once, but if you split it between 2 cards you won't be charged for the second one.

EDIT: Just reading some of the other posts on here today FD may have started charging for the second BT even if it is to another card. Check the T&C you got with your card or give them a call to check.
