Credit card incentives

hi all, i was wondering, does anybody know whats the best credit card to go for at the moment that offer the best incentives?
im a student, but dont really mind if i dont get a student credit card. not too fussed about the credit limit i get-just want to start building a good credit rating.

for example, on Barclay card Student Barclay card offer 10% off all:sports and Domino pizza at a rate of 17.9% APR(variable)

or is it worth going for e.g. a nationwide cash reward card that offer a 15.9% APR (variable)?

im planning to pay off credit card in full each month and not worried too much about balance transfers.

appreciate the advice!

If you can get one, you are still better with a 0% card. If you dont manage to pay the card off every month, and I think most people start with that intention on their first card, then at least it wont add interest on. The Sainsburys card does 0% on purchases for 12 months. However, most lenders do like to see a credit history before you can get these kind of cards, so maybe start with a Capital One card?

it'l be a bit difficult to get 0%, because itl be my first credit card.
would anybody recommend a Halifax One account?

also, need to bear in mind, wages is under 10k.

I've got a One card actually, I forgot about that! Quite good, nice 9 months @ 0%. but you would then probably be more likely to get accepted with whoever you bank with. Best pop into your branch and talk to someone there. Least if they can see your bank account history, they might be more likely to accept you, so if you bank with HBOS, then you have nothing to lose. If you dont have a bank account though, then I would still try Capital One as they claim to offer anyone a card. See their site for more details.

No I never said that, its worth trying, but if you have no joy with anyone else giving you a card, your bank is usually more likely to give you a card as they have the history of your account to go on since you have no credit history. Just dont keep trying online applications, as the searches will count against you, and you might find that nobody wants to give you a card. It just seems to be that a lot of lenders keep the 0% rates for people with good credit records, but some are not as fussy as others.

    Hope I havent confused you

If you are going to pay it off each month it doesn't matter what you get?

What a cashback card - pays you around 0.5% on each purchase?

Martin has done an article on them.
