in Credit cards
Hi,
I have just been accepted for an Egg CC with a limit of 3.5k, which is more than enough for me to transfer cc's, O/D's etc... to take advantage of their 0% BT deal.
My credit score must be quite low at the moment - due to huge bank charges due to my (ex) employer not paying properly/on-time etc...
So I was suprised to be accepted for the 0% deal - In September though, once the 0% BT is up, I am intending to move to another 0% card and so on until the balance is cleared.
I also have a Barclaycard (limit 500) which I keep for emergencies, but very rarely use.
My question is: should I buy one thing a month on the Barclaycard and pay it off within the month to build my credit score in anticipation of trying to get another 0% deal in September when the Egg 0% is up?
Also, does anyone know if I can transfer my partners CC and OD to my egg card as well with no cost/fee?

I think you can transfer the money directly into your bank account with Egg, so therefore it would be up to you as to how you use the money, so in other words you could pay off your partners debts.
Cancel the Barclaycard but make sure you pay your Egg card when payment is due.
In 6 months time apply for an MBNA card, but make sure you don't over extend yourself by having all your debts on one card just in case you get refused in 6 months, mind you your partner could also try for a card.0 -
So cancelling the Barclaycard would increase my chances of getting a MBNA card in 6 months?
Also based on what you said about 'all eggs in one basket' (paraphrased!!) - would you advise applying for say the Virgin 0% BT deal now (or any other for that matter), as to spread the dept around?
The debts we are talking about here are not huge - in total about 3.5k.0 -
What's the point in keeping your Bcard when it has such a poor credit limit, the less CCards that you have the more likely you are to be approved for a new one.
As regards spreading the debt around, well even if you get approved for a new card there's no gaurantee you'll get a 3.5 k credit limit to transfer the balance.0
