Deposit Criteria
To receive a monthly reward or a certain amount of interest, some accounts requite a minimum deposit each month. Can I make that deposit and then immediately withdraw it, and still meet the criteria? Or does it need to stay in the account for at least one working day?

Bank accounts for children (infants)
Hi! I'm looking at opening a bank account for my 9 month old daughter but the only information I can seem to find is about child savings accounts. We just want an account that can act as a landing account for any incoming money she may get, so we can then pay into other accounts such as regular savers or a stocks and…

Large cash withdrawals from Nationwide...
Hi - we are having building work done on our house, and the builder asked for cash, so he can pay his contractors and also for materials at the yard. This isn't a problem for us - he's delivering a service which we're happy with and how he pays his staff etc is none of our business. BUT - we've now found out that getting…

open banking windows or web?
I have seen some apps provided by the banks that offer account aggregation through open banking. However I'd be much happier with something that could run in a browser or as a windows program. I'm only after simple account balance aggregation to save me updating a spreadsheet. Any recommendations?

Switching joint current account
We currently have a joint Santander 123 and want to switch to the new Halifax Reward. Unfortunately they are telling me this can't be done on line, only in branch. Is this going to be the case with all accounts or is it just Halifax. I really want to do it on line as we are not going into shops or anywhere else at the…

New current account for 11 year old
Our 11 year old is about to start secondary school and we ideally want to open him a current account. We're struggling to find a bank that will open a new account because you'd normally have to go into the branch to open it. Has anyone had any luck? We know we can get him a prepaid card, but would prefer to get him a…

Why do banks use SMS over app for OTP?
Why do banks send OTP codes as a text message if the customer has the app installed? The app is obviously optional for traditional banks say Lloyds but once I install it surely my bank has that on record. So why doesn't the bank use this for the OTP and instead uses SMS which we are frequently reminded is insecure and…

Hi all. I have an issue regarding a switching bonus I was expecting to receive for switching to a HSBC Advance current account (a time long ago when such things were a thing! :o ) I opened the account in branch in January 2019 and was advised by the representative of the switching incentive of £150, paid 30 days after the…

Need to organise budgeting and saving more effectively
I wasn't sure where to post this as dealing with debt board is not really suitable. I think my problems have arisen, because I've suffered a number of redundancies in previous years. This understandably has caused me to be anxious with the result that I micro manage my savings far to much. I definitely need a better way.…

My current bank does not support a bank switching service
Hi. I have held a current (pre-paid) bank account with Cashplus for about 9 years now. At the time my credit rating was poor, no other regular bank would touch me with a barge pole so it was hobsons choice really. With cashplus I had the option of opting into 'cashbuilder ' on their current account which basically claims…
