Broadband that rolls onto/renews a reasonable price?
I was about to sign up with PlusNet but it turns out that they hike the bill up by >£20pm after the contract ends. The point being you'll negotiate onto another fixed term with them. I don't want that. I don't want to have to negotiate insurance, broadband, utility, prices etc. every year. I'm at a good place with my car…

Vodafone Broadband (or not...)
VODAFONE BROADBAND - YOU DECIDE! We recently tried to switch our home broadband from a provider who was putting their prices up to Vodafone which had come up as a 'best buy' on the MSE website. As a couple working from home, with elderly relatives on call, it was imperative that the switch went through without a hitch. So…

Leaving your Router/Modem on, Costs ?
With electricity costs soaring I am wondering what it is costing me to have my router on all day? Is it best to keep it on or turn it off when I go to bed until the morning? We are off on holiday for a couple of months (we are retired) and I am wondering if I should turn off the router whilst I am away? We are with…

Switching fibre for the first time
Hello everyone. I've been with EE (fibre broadband only) for a few years and this years contract is ending. I've seen cheaper options from other providers like Now & Plusnnet. They are also offering money cards and it's so tempting to switch. These companies also seem to be saying I don't need to phone EE to cancel and…

Youfibre - any good?
Youfibre recently rolled out their services where I live and I'm tempted, but I'm worried about going to a new, unknown company in case the service isn't so good. I'm currently getting up to 100mb on Virgin Media and I rely on these speeds because my autistic daughter gets extremely upset if she can't watch her youtube…

Grandparents ripped off by Virgin broadband
Hi all, My wife's grandparents have been seriously taken advantage of by Virgin. They've been with them for years for their Internet. Their bills had been going up but they're a bit naive and assumed they were paying the going rate. They're paying £75 per month for 350mb broadband! This is a couple who are nearly both 80,…

What Plusnet can do and can't do
Hi there, Plusnet have said that they can't supply us with fibre, although we have the fibre cable right outside our house. Something to do with the green cabinet and the wiring (didn't get the exact details)... They told us only BT can do it, and BT are only offering 1000 Meg, which is a costly one. We don't want to leave…
