Should I switch to TalkTalk from Plusnet?

Hi,
My Plusnet contract is up in a couple of weeks. Just been looking at options, Plusnet are offering me the same fibre at £27.50 to stay with them. Other options include TalkTalk at £23.50 a month but get a £75 voucher so works out at £19.33 a month for the same speed.

Ask Plusnet if they'll match the TalkTalk offer. They won't do the voucher but they may be able to match the £23.50.

From my experience with Talk Talk CS - no, not if you value your sanity!2

Thirded from a friend's experience - the actual performance was dire too.0

Depends if price is all you care about. Other than that I wouldn't recommend. The number of hours of my life I will never get back sorting out issues for friends and family with them :-(1

For the record I have been with plusnet since 2015 (maybe longer I forget who I was with in the previous place!), Thye have slightly more than bad customer service, which is well worth the not much extra to me.There is good customer service out there but most will not like the prices (or have issues). I did complain about getting under the minmun speed to plusnet and they did send someone out and they did fix it (top speed for a bit they degraded a bit but was still over the min).1

Although Plusnet is not perfect, no ISP is, my experience with Plusnet very recently is that, when something goes wrong, they fix it.Going back, and although I am not good with technology I am now better than I was, Plusnet's technical support is, in my experience, really good. My recent problem, which was not a technical issue, was fixed by Plusnet quickly and they were really good about it.I hope it works out well for you, Chris_derby.Crimson1

Likewise, never had any issues with Plusnet and their responses using the web chat or phone lines.
If you look at the customer satisfaction surveys, whilst they do have a high number of customer complaints, the satisfaction is usually in the top 3. Whilst they shouldn't have the complaints in the first case, they do deal with them well. TalkTalk is a higher number of cases, with an even lower satisfaction. Engaging with them is like pulling teeth.
Agree, if 1st class performance and satisfaction is your wish, then one of the more budget focussed suppliers like Plusnet shouldn't be your choice. Someone like Zen would be far better.1 -
Thanks for your replies. I have been with TalkTalk before a few years ago (the time they got cyber attacked) but don’t think I had many issues and never had to use technical support luckily. I left for Plusnet as they were cheaper at the time and TalkTalk had been cyber attacked. Plusnet have been fine, only a couple of issues but they sorted it. Although they over charged me a couple of times and had to get the money back.
It’s a huge saving though if I did go with TalkTalk, about £8 a month for a similar speed. Just got to decide if the drop of £8 is worth the drop of customer service.
There are other providers as well that are cheaper, Sky has a deal for £21.84, Vodafone for £22.50, Now for £23.50 and EE for £24.90 a month. Has anyone had any dealings with these?0
