Plusnet copyright infringement email
I have done a search and can find nothing more recent than 2010. I have received an email, apparently from support@plusnet which says We've received a notification that your Internet connection has been used to share some copyrighted content without the rights holder's permission. This content could be things like films,…

SSE Broadband, happy despite some negative reviews
Thought this lot deserved a public thumbs up for getting (almost) everything right. We took out a 24 month contract, with discounted price for the first 18 months, in Nov 2016. The deal was 39Mb/s fibre with phone and eve / weekend calls for £22.50 / month. At the time the next cheapest fibre available around here was…

Plusnet not working and my tenants aren't happy!
I provide my tenants with broadband as part of their rent and wish to continue doing that. It's with Plusnet. It's not worked for over a week. I contacted Plusnet as soon as the tenants made me aware. They said it was an Openreach problem that would be fixed by yesterday. It wasn't. There was no record of an Openreach…

Switching
This might be a daft question.... If upgrading from EE ADSL to sky fibre, do I need to do anything to close my EE contract, or will sky take care of that? Thanks

freeview v freesat
As my recent post yesterday I’m planning to ditch Virgin Media for either freesat or freeview. From what I can see the Humax boxes are similar for both and the channels are similar. I have a dish already (an old one so I have no idea if it works) so that is in favour of freesat, but then dishes are ugly so the idea of…

which company would you go for broadband other than virgin media?
I'm paying £55-60 per month for the whole package. I want to switch to broadband only but VM won't let me do it. It will cost me more if I switch. what a joke. I'm thinking BT but are they any good?

BT landline to Vodaphone broadband
I have an existing BT landline and want to ditch it for Vodaphone broadband which comes with a "free" landline. What would be the procedure ? Get in touch with Vodaphone and let them deal with closing down my BT landline or do I need to end my contract with BT then sign up to Vodaphone I assume I can keep my existing BT…

Will I be able to keep my .eu domain?
We have an .eu domain, which we use mainly for e-mail - firstname AT surname.eu . It is short, practical and admired by family and friends. :) One of those friends showed me a two-sentence item from the Daily M**l last week saying that Brits would no longer be able to use .eu domains if we leave the EU. No source was…

switching from Virgin Media
I currently pay around £50 per month for broadband, phone and basic TV with a Tivo box, but I feel I could cut out the TV as we only watch freeview. They keep sneaking the price up and won't upgrade us to the latest box so I feel I should quit. Problems are: 1. Virgin broadband is reliable and fast, is it risky to switch?…

Does broadband really take up to midnight to activate
My now tv fab fibre broadband should be activated today but does it really take up to midnight and should I leave my plusnet router connected until the change over. The instructions booklet with the now tv router says not to install before the activation date but on my now tv account it says don't setup your kit yet.

If I cancel Virgin Media DD what will happen?
As the title really. I, amongst so many other people it seems cannot get through to Virgin Media to cancel my services. Despite several calls over the last few weeks I either get cut off at the 20 minute mark or it just keeps me on hold. I have also aired my grievance over social media with them but you get the same old…

Broadband deals going up now summer is over?
I've missed the BT deal with cashback which was previously listed on here for £21.71 a month for the 50 Mb (presumably this is the average speed?) package. Have the prices recently been falling due to a reduction in line rental to openreach which filtered through to retail prices? I have a Three PAYG SIM which I'd love to…

Plusnet offer not available
Hi all, Trying to take up the current "best buy" for standard broadband (can't post a link because I'm a new user, but it's the current "cheapest standard broadband and line" offer under the Cheap Broadband Guide) but when I click through to the Plusnet site, the offer isn't there. There's an "online only" deal which…

Broadband and Added TV Packages
New to the group so my query may have been covered.I have quite a good deal with Virgin re Broadband,Phone and Sky/BT package, which is small consolation considering the mess they made of my street. Anyhow, has anyone come up with a Broadband provider and added packages(say Sky Sport)...sort of bespoke job which results in…

Virgin Media
Hi. I renegotiated a new deal with VM on 3rd Aug 2018 after the UKTV debacle. I have now recieved a letter saying my bill is going up in this current price hike. The email says I can leave without penalty before 30th Sept. I get and understand that part but was concerned seeing as I only renewed 3 weeks ago. I just phkne…

Sky took a direct debit after contract was cancelled and keep pushing back the refund date
I gave my required notice period to cancel my broadband and was told my leaving date was the 27th July. I was also told that I would be owed a small amount of money from sky for the rest of the month as I had payed in advance. On the 3rd of August I was billed as usual as if I had not cancelled the service. I called to…

Switching? Get your timing right!
I'm just making the switch to NowTV Broadband, from BT. I was expecting, during the sign-up process, that I would be able to choose the date of the switch, so that I could tie it up with the end of my BT contract. Unfortunately, no such option during the order process and NowTV have come up with a date a few days before my…
