Does broadband really take up to midnight to activate

My now tv fab fibre broadband should be activated today but does it really take up to midnight and should I leave my plusnet router connected until the change over. The instructions booklet with the now tv router says not to install before the activation date but on my now tv account it says don't setup your kit yet.

I would leave the plusnet router attached until it stops working. Then probably the other end has been switched over to the new provider. I think I once moved providers and the old router kept working even after I'd moved to the new provider.0

I would be interested to hear how the switch over to NowTV is going0

It can be switched at any time on activation day, but could in theory take up to midnight. Though more usually in office hours. Presumably they say that just to stop people ringing them up at 6pm because the switch hasn't happened yet.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Every time Ive changed its been around mid day that my new provider has taken over, with the old one stopping service early am0

I was using my old broadband supplier until 9am yesterday then I had to go out so i turned the router off and when I got back in at 13.20 i turned the router back on and the broadband was disconnected so i checked my now tv account and it was showing as activated. I then plugged in the now tv hub two and i have no internet and i still don't have any this morning.
What colour are the lights on the hub?0 -
From memory sky/nowtv have their own kit in the exchanges , sounds like that's not been connected . Not sure if they rely on openreach for that or their own engineer.
That's only going to be done between 8am and 6pm.Ex forum ambassador
