Broadband deals going up now summer is over?

I've missed the BT deal with cashback which was previously listed on here for £21.71 a month for the 50 Mb (presumably this is the average speed?) package.
Have the prices recently been falling due to a reduction in line rental to openreach which filtered through to retail prices?
I have a Three PAYG SIM which I'd love to move to BT mobile (£6.67 after cashback for 5GB!) , but the cheapest BT broadband deal for 50 Mb now is £31.55 as far as I can tell. I'm sharing it with a housemate so I need something more than 20 Mb
Should I hang on until October or just take the best deal going today? That seems to be a Plus-net deal for what they call 40 Mb at £23.99. I don't want to buy any Murdoch services like Sky or Now.

Price increase rounds have started last month or so .

No same line rental charges but possible discounts on BB .
BT Price rise from 16th Sept 2018.
VM from October.0 -
I think the Plus.net deals look good as they also have cheap mobile deals which only have a one month notice period, especially as with BT it is 12 months which would put it out of sync with the broadband renewal. I'm hoping the service is more or less the same as the BT. The Hub One from Plusnet is the same as the BT Homehub or whatever its now called.0

Interesting that you should mention about pricing going up recently. I've been looking into broadband options and took some notes a week or so ago about deals I'm interested in.
Went back to my notes and pretty much without fail all the monthly broadband prices had gone up when I checked again today.
From my research this is what I found -
The TalkTalk broadband package I was looking at was £25 it's now £28.50 per month.
BT have increased prices by a couple of quid and reduced the pre-paid credit card amounts on offer.
Plusnet have stayed largely the same except for a quid or two extra per month on one or two deals.
EE have a broadband deal up by a pound per month.
The top John Lewis top fibre package went from 27.50 to 32.50!
The only broadband provider who had reduced their price that I could see was Now TV who went down by £2 per month on their basic broadband. So it looks like Now TV are probably the best value at the moment.
My research came from https://www.broadbandswitch.co.uk/ and https://www.cable.co.uk both seem accurate from what I can see.
Hope this has helped some folk. The lesson oddly seems to be to buy broadband during the Summer holiday period as the prices go up after that!0 -
The nowtv deal includes free calls if you still want to change!0

Perhaps it is for the best - these deals with cash back or mastercards mean that after 18 months you really have to move. Unless you can negotiate a discount going forward, which I managed to a long time ago with BT.
How much time and effort do consumers go through chasing offers, and all the efforts companies must put in devising these offers. At the end of the day it is the same wire with pretty much the same equipment attached. Bring back a state-owned monopoly!0 -

Very little in my case anyway, a quick look on the comparison sites and a phone call to my current suppler. If they can't get close enough at least then I'll sign up online to someone else as soon as the phones down.0 -

Vast difference in routers in many cases especially wifi coverage .
Can be a difference in the speed package with BT up to 52 meg others up to 38 meg .
Large cost difference in BT Sport on some platforms .0
