We have an .eu domain, which we use mainly for e-mail - firstname AT surname.eu . It is short, practical and admired by family and friends.
One of those friends showed me a two-sentence item from the Daily M**l last week saying that Brits would no longer be able to use .eu domains if we leave the EU. No source was shown.
Does anybody know if this is true, or just another example of DM Project Fear?
Thanks.

According to Wikipedia:-
Brexit
On 29 March 2018, as a consequence of the United Kingdom's exit from the European Union, it was announced that "as of the withdrawal date, undertakings and organisations that are established in the United Kingdom but not in the EU, and natural persons who reside in the United Kingdom will no longer be eligible to register .eu domain names or, if they are .eu registrants, to renew .eu domain names registered before the withdrawal date".[10][11] The Commission announced on 27 April 2018 that it would like to open registration to all EU and EEA citizens, including those living outside the EU.[12]

It seems likely that you will be able to keep your .eu domain provided you supply an address within the EU. You don't, as far as I can see, have to be an EU citizen.
But like most things we don't know yet.
You can raise your concerns with your MEP(s) and they may contact the relevant EU Directeur or Commissioner.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

But just in case he is anywhere near me at any time, I'll get someone to phone me. My ringtone is Alle Menschen werden Brüder a.k.a. the Ode to Joy from Beethoven's 9th Symphony. I'm sure he will respect the European Anthem.0 -
The Daily Wail has never waited for facts before writing a scare story, this is just another example.0
