My 'SuperFast' Virgin Broadband is shocking!
Hi, I have recently had virgin installed at my new house. Almost daily this cuts out for hours on end, and is totally unusable. My partner has had numerous lengthy chats with them where they have fiddled with things there end, and it always works for a few hours, but then inevitably fails again. We've had it twice in our…

Sky Broadband - network hacked question
I bought a new Acer Aspire D270 with McAfee antivirus software installed. I've only used the internet on it a few times but each time it was very slow. I thought it was the McAfee software so I rang the helpline. The assistant accessed my laptop and said that my network had been hacked and there were eight separate IP…

Cancelling BT Contract - Poor broadband service!
Hi, I have been in a "contract" with BT for just a little over a year and have had terrible service from day 1! Constant slow broadband speeds and broadband cut offs for 2 days. I am always on the phone to BT (at least once per week) reporting this and after speaking to them for between 40 and 60 mins on each occasion I am…

BT lies are accepted by Ombudsman
What chance does any one have when you experience a really bad service from BT, then go through the channels of the Ombudsman only to find that all the evidence you send them falls on deaf ears and BT simply lie. I ordered Broadband via BT to a home that had never had Broadband before. BT couldn't supply in given time so I…

Supanet charging after move to new ISP
Hi folks, Hope you can help. In May I switched from Supanet to Plusnet for both my telephone and broadband service. As I've done with each prior ISP move, I obtained a MAC code from Supanet, gave it to Plusnet and they did the rest. However, this month I realised that Supanet are still taking payments from my bank account…

BT Cancelled Broadband Instead of Home Move
Hi, Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with BT. I moved home in February and booked a home move for our Broadband only service with BT. On awaiting the home move to take place I queried with BT why it was taking so long. They looked into it and advised due to an error they had actually cancelled the…

Virgin Broadband Router
Hi all, Bit of a silly question, but does the broad 60Mb broadband w/o phone line (http://store.virginmedia.com/broadband/compare-broadband/60mb.html) include a wireless router as part of the installation charge or not? Thanks!

BE Internet provider
On Broadband Choices BE is showing as the cheapest broadband offer (broadband only) - £8.50 for 10Mb speed and unlimited download. Notice BE isn't included on any discussion here - a good ISP or one to avoid?

Which ISP gives you a dynamic IP address ?
Hi all As the title suggests, which ISP gives you a dynamic IP address instead of a static one ? I used to be with Orange a few years ago and apparently everytime you switched off the router (and then back on again), you were given a new IP address. For some odd reason, it doesn't seem to work with 02 which I'm currently…

Virgin Double Speed Delay success
So mainly for the reason that when we were on Sky they promised, now Virgin is an estimate but Sky gave 3 promises over 2 years, this £17 PM broadband that other people were paying £5 per month for was going to be upgraded to the new line, in our area, never happened. So as people here know Virgin in early January promised…

Do I really need a landline to get broadband?
Basically I want to get broadband but I never plan to use my landline. I phoned o2 and they're telling me I need a landline and that will double the price. Is there a way to get broadband without a landline? And if not are there any landline providers that dont charge monthly and just charge per call as I'll never use it?

Virgin media
Hi, I'm moving to Chessington in SW London and considering signing up for Virgin broadband, which is what the current residents of the house have. Does anyone know how I can find out the real-world speeds there (have tried contacting the current resident but they haven't replied.) Can Virgin tell me over the phone?
