please rec a mobile phone & high speed internet contract in one
Currently I am using Asda PAYG (8p/min anytime and 4p/txt) and only really use about £4 or £5 a month. I am sharing my internet with other students - and enjoy the benefit of high speed Virgine broadband. In June I am moving ut to my own place. Don't really need TV or landline, as I tend to do this on-line. I noticed…

Sky Broadband
I have just cancelled our Virgin Media contract due to several problems over the last few years. We are now looking at new providers and have decided to go with sky as hubby wants sky sports. Just trying to decide whether to go for a BT phone line or Sky phoneline. Not sure if we can get Sky broadband in this area and Sky…

One month broadband contracts - what's the earliest I can leave?
Hi all If I sign up to a 1 month broadband contract, and my line becomes active on the 1st of the month, is it perfectly possible to request my MAC on the same day to port straight out again? I understand I would be charged for the full 30 days even if the service moved before 30 days were up. Thanks Michael.

Internet in Spain
Hi. Would you be able to help us? We have a property in southern Spain and would like to get internet access. We do not have a phone line (telefonica would be the only option for this) nor do we currently have Sky TV (and are unsure if this would be able to provide internet access in Spain anyway). We spend around 4-5…

Mobile broadband or home broadband?
Hi all, just ordered a Macbook today so I need to get some internet access at home. The problem I have is that I won't be living at my current address for much longer and I will be moving in to a place that comes with wireless in the next few months. For that reason I don't want to be tied into a contract but I can't find…

Internet advice for someone clueless...
Can someone explain the pro's and con's regarding having a Virgin Media (fibre optic?) line compared to a standard BT line for the internet. I have Virgin XL broadband which claims "up to 20MB" speeds, but there are loads of companies all claiming this. Virgin make a big deal (at least in those old Samuel L Jackson TV ads)…

Possible to have ADSL and cable at same time?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm moving house on 1 July and phoned Sky to arrange them to setup broadband for when I move in. Looking on their site it says the broadband will be activated on the 1 June, a month earlier than I want. The current tenants at the house use Virgin for cable broadband/phone, and…

ADSL Phone line cancellation charge
I just contacted plus.net to cancel the service and have been told that I have to pay £25 to have the line disconnected, even though I have already forked out over £100, for the connection, when I signed up almost 2 years ago. I joined in September 2008, but am told that is when they had already changed their terms and…

Broadband packages with free laptops

anyone had issues with o2's fair usage policy?
I'm wondering how much of an issue it is because they've had rave reviews about their broadband but on some forums I have read that they contact customers to tell them they are downloading too much (worrying as I hate feeling I'm being monitored by my own isp not had that yet!) without specifying what too much is in their…

does virgin still try and retain you?
I remember when they were NTL they would give a few months free or reduce the price to say around £8 for broadband for the rest of the year if you threatened to leave. They never even bothered mentioning the cost of the phone line which they had provided which was kind of like free with the package. Now, since virgin took…

Cancelling Virgin Media
Hi, I'm a student living in rented accommodation and will be moving out on the 30th June. My Virgin Media contract also ends around this date, and so I am wondering what is the easiest way to cancel so it does actually finish on that date? Also, do Virgin collect the set top box, modem and router? And if so would it be…

talk talk beware

Mobile phone & broadband
Hi all I am a regular browser of the internet but not a highly technically literate person. I currently have a landline with BT and broadband with AOL, I'm not in contract with either. I'm currently reviewing my household finances and giving consideration to getting rid of my landline and broadband, and then replacing it…

Orange Mobile Internet Help
I signed up to Orange 12month early bird contract for £28 per month for 10gb of download in March. Yesterday I received a letter from Orange welcoming me (only 2 months late!) but where it has the details of my contract, it says contract length is one month. Does this mean I can cancel it within the 12 months without…
