Bitcoin for beginners
I feel like I am late to the bitcoin party. Whenever I look at forum discussions and articles about bitcoin, a certain basic knowledge seems to be assumed. It is like unravelling a ball of wool and never coming to the beginning. Or unravelling a ball of wool only to find that what I want to know is in another ball entirely…

Plum free £25 for saving £500 for 6 months.
Hi all, I've just spotted this offer on the homepage. Has anybody used a similar offer in the past? Clicking through simply takes you to the app store to get the app. I've installed it and created an account but there's nothing I can see relating to the £25. So I am assuming it is working via some sort of tracker / referal…

Investing suggestions for 30/40 year olds
Two members of my family are late 30s and nearly 40s. Like me, they inherited when my father died (approx £40k to each of them) and are unaccustomed to having excess money. Both have busy, quite overloaded lives balancing work with raising under 12 year olds. As a result of all of the above, they have little time/energy to…

Simple share selling question
Hi - i'm totally ignorant about shares, but i have some in eurotunnel, which i inherited 20 years ago. A grand total of about £50 worth. They are 'held' - if that's the right word - by computershare who want £20 to sell them for me. Is there a cheaper way, or can i only sell through them? Thanks.

Closing and re-applying for accounts to move interest dates and/or extend term
Anyone closed and re-applied for Skipton
Building Society Member Bonus Saver (currently 5.5% up to £3000)? If so, how
soon after closing were you able to successfully re-apply? I haven’t used it
apart from initial £1 but it would be of use to me this coming year if I could push
the interest to 2025/26 tax year. Same…

Currently, I have a SIPP held with x-o, part of Jarvis. x-o hold the shares while another company, Embark Pensions, manage the pension legal aspects. I received a letter today from Jarvis saying that they are withdrawing from the SIPP market and that I have to move my account elsewhere. I guess they have found SIPPs not to…

Bare Trusts is special account needed?
Bare trusts held in Interactive Investor. Legacy accounts. They no longer properly support Bare Trusts. Account is closing. They suggest just creating a separate investment account and putting the Bare Trust in that. It would not longer have the name of the Beneficiary on it, rather the Trustee's name. Does anyone know if…

Cynergy Bank - bad login procedures
What a really rubbish bank, I've had over 25 savings accounts over the years and this bank has the worst procedures I've ever dealt with. To start with their app is beyond awful due to the bank's infuriatingly difficult and fiddly to use login procedures. I work in tech, so have a good understanding of how things should…
