I applied for an Investec 1 Year fixed rate ISA yesterday and on reading t and c's after applying noticed that on maturity the interest appeared to have to be paid away into your linked account. this seemed really odd to me so went onto their chat and this was confirmed that on maturity the Isa transfers to instant access…

Basic question re proposed 22% tax on Stocks and Shares ISA's
I have some investments, which are managed, in Stocks and Shares ISA's. I am over 65. I believe the new propsed tax at 22% on the cash element, is for everyone, under and over 65. Is this right? I am finding mixed messages re this! Also, how do I find out what is the 'cash' element of my ISA's, that the proposed tax will…

Crystal ball thoughts - 1 year or 2?
I have not yet funded this year's cash ISA, and have just got a matured previous year's cash ISA. Rates for both 1- and 2- year cash ISAs are about 4.6%. I haven't been tracking the rates over the last month or so, to see whether the general direction of travel is up or down. I am happy with either duration. Any thoughts?!
