Had my recently cancelled three contract phone unlocked in an independant shop it cost £10 and took about a minute!!!
The guy told me that three mobile phones are his best customers for getting the phones unlocked lol !!!
Didn't happen to be Exmouth did it? I spoke to a very nice chap there when I was away on holiday. He couldn't unlock my phone at the time as his kit had been sent away for an update. He was charging about £10.0 -

Just pluged it into computer and the program sorted it out seemed easy money i dont know how many he would do per day though but none of the stores O2 voda car phone wharehouse phones for you were allowed to do it,
I did actually try three last on sat ! as the shop that did it monday was closed on saturday !! just thought that i could give the rep some reasons why i wanted it changed from three to another providers sim card !
He said that they didnt do it but i didnt bother to give him any stick as he looked bored and wanted someone to talk to as all the other shops were busy and they were quite!!!!! wonder why?0 -
I also went to Plymouth, on the same holiday and a women on a stall wanted £25! :O I told her that 3 only charge £15 and she just shrugged... I offered £10 but she wouldn't lower 'cause they're the only ones in Plymouth
Don't imagine they get much business.

I had two phones that have just ended with the three contract, the ericson k 850i is the one i got unlocked and i had a nokia n95 8gb but when i got my i phone 3gs 32 gb on O2 the carphone whare house gave me £100 for it so maybe people are p/x phones now i guess you would normaly use your new phone with your new deal than to need to keep your old one, or even p/x it now instead as it seems by all the ads now you can get a good return on your old phone!
I been led to beleive that all the old p/x phones are going to india to be used there, i guess thats the reason why three are still behind with the c/s if our old stock is as new for them0 -
Back to topic.
Handset: Nokia N95-8GB
Most commonly used location: Dorset, Hampshire.
Ease and reliability and connection: Phone is fantastic, once 3 farceware was removed. Started really well, but just recently things started getting unreliable.
Signal looks good on the screen but once you start making a call, instant drop outs.
I found that setting the phone to use GSM and then manually registering with 3 made loads of difference, bearing in mind that most if not all 3G services (Video/Internet) may not work properly.
Any other problems: Don't get me startedCustomer Services make it as difficult as they can to get anything resolved. Sending you round in circles, giving false information, or even just hanging up on you (even when being civil which takes a lot!).
Overall service and rating (out of 10): Phone, 9/10 - Company, big fat ZERO/10.0 -
Handset: 3 SkypePhone
Most commonly used location: Runcorn/Liverpool/North West
Ease and reliability and connection: Easy to use, simple and easy to go on Facebook
Any other problems: None, apart from sometimes signal goes, easy switch off and on (annoying but works and takes 2 seca)
Overall service and rating (out of 10): 10/10
Phone costs me 10pounds every two months, never ring just go on Facebook and text, and as my allowance carries on then it usually lasts two months,
Ideal for a second phone

3 has improved their HSDPA, at least here in Edinburgh. Their customer service still sucks, however.
That's all I pay, also - £10 every 2 months - skype and free sms program. I have a 5800 I got for £60 on ebay.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Ease and reliability and connection Easy to use handset. Too bulky to carry around, so used at home as the main phone for outgoing calls. Reliability is very poor, constantly drops calls, that is if you have managed to get a signal to make a call. No chance of ever making a video call and 3 services are available on an ad hoc basis.
When I first bought it I was put on the wrong tariff. Trying to speak to customer services to sort it out was a waste of time and effort. Tried writing to them, sent letters recorded delivery, but never got a response, sent faxes but still no response and telephoning them is a joke…going through their menu takes an eternity and you still end up in the wrong department and rather than the person trying to transfer you I have just been cut off on several occasions.
So whilst the tariff is good value the overall experience is very poor and once the 12 months is up I am finished with them.
Rating 1/100 -
Kent.sth/east. and Dorset average coverage.
n.6500s/n6700.10/10.!!! .
3Gcustomer services 0/10
there call center op's in india are the worst ive ever dealt with.
i think its time the MANAGING DIRECTOR for 3G was given a wake up call on WATCHDOG!!!
i have noticed an increase of late of voice mssgs from missed calls in areas with good coverage.why does'nt the call conect?
this is'nt just a 3 problem other networks o2 orange and virgin all do the same.
at work its a nightmare.we've found it laughable when stood next to the person your calling, both showing good signal coverage it goes straight to voice mail.?0 -
Oh yes i am back again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not through any choice of my own though
THREE MOBILE COMPANY ARE USELESS THEY ARE THE WORST THEY ARE UNABLE TO DO ANY THING RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here we go my last contract ended on 22 oct so i have not had the bill and i am wanting to hand them my hard earned money in return for nothing!
(nice way of earning money if you can get away with it and they seem to be able to manage this)
I go on internet as i am now with O2 and i dont want to phone the not free phone number 0847 or whatever any way i log onto the three web site and manage eventualy to get onto live talk when a msg pops up
you are number 0
your waiting tims is 0
5 minutes later these blocks are moving from side to side
nothing !!!!!
did it again same thing
I managed to leave a number and got a phone call 15 mins later
Now the shock!!!!!!!
Although i cancelled my contract two months before and DONE THROUGH EXECUTIVE OFFICE !
It has not been cancelled at all and i am still being charged!
Although I have not used the phone since the date it was cancelled
I am currently in the first 30 days of my new contract and have to give another 30 days notice from the end of the current month!
So i will be charged untill the end of december!!!!
Now the reason for this
As the phone was mine and my girlfriend was using it she did not want to change the number so for incoming calls it was worth going to payg, i/e stick £10 on it and not use it but anyone could call her as changing number would take some time to let everyone know!!!!
I phoned three and said my girlfriend may want to continue on payg with this phone would it be possible to keep the number and transfer it to her name, the op said yes but need to do something like £15 on a rolling contract payg just get her to call back and give all her details,
ok i may phone back tommorow if thats what we want to do.
Thought about it and i did not want to do that after all so left it.
Now i made it clear that i did not want to continue with the original contract and it had definately been cancelled,
Plus as the new contract i am now being charged for is a payg contract who has said they wanted it.
My girlfriend did not call back and say she wanted to take it out after all so who gives them the right to still say i owe them £15 extra this month and 30 days notice and another £15 fo that?0
