They will unlock an out of contract phone for a charge (£15?). No idea about PAYG phones.
  • Well I for one will be going down to my local market and paying £10 to get my 3 mobile unlocked. I would rather pay a total stranger on the street £15 to unlock my phone than give those clowns the satisfaction.

none of the top high street mobile phone providers will unlock a mobile phone in Exeter !
I went to all in Exeter exept O2 as there was a cue out the door!

I have been told two independant shops and one on the Market that will do it but only open mon to fri!
  • Okay, some of my experiences:-

Handset: INQ1 - okay, but poor battery life

Most commonly used location: Edinburgh, but also Cornwall, Devon, Arran

Ease and reliability and connection: Excellent

Any other problems: None - excellent

Overall service and rating (out of 10): 7

Lastly, why 7? Big issues with - in my experience - seamless integration between the UK sales force and online sales with their India based customer service teams. They need to sort that out as my renewal experience this year was abysmal. There is no point having a system in place that doesn't permit an offshore function not to have access to the same information their UK colleagues or customers can see.

Other than that, no issues and I recommend 3 wholeheartedly. Reception is excellent, call clarity good, service coverage can't be faulted IMO. I have used 3 in a range of places both urban and rural and never lost out yet, or at least, where I have done it's in places where other services suffer likewise (e.g. the Isle of Arran).

what area's in Devon are you using your phone in ?
  • I've got an excellent example of just how brilliant their Executive Office is. I wrote a long letter about the poor disgraceful customer service provided, which they promptly replied with 'call <insert random department here> on <insert 0870 number here>' Brilliant!!
  • Quite ironic that most communication companies are absolutely rubbish at communicating.
    WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
    Blimey what was that ?
    That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.
