I have just joined this forum to warn everyone to avoid this company they are THE WORST !!!!!!!
I have just got out of my contract with this lot, i was unable to receive calls sometimes! without my friend telling me that he had tried to call me i dont know how many calls i have missed this last 18 months! his phone was ringing at his end but mine was not!
I lose connection constantly, customer service is a complete joke you just as well bang your head against a brick wall!
OVERALL SERVICE RATING (OUT OF 10) BIG FAT ZERO 00 -
I have considerable experience of all the network providers to base my judgement on, including 02, vodafone and orange. I had a contract with 3 back in 2005, kept it for the compulsory year and went back to Orange. I had only gone to them as they were one of the few providers doing the PDA touchscreen phones at this time. I had no end of problems with the handset (motorola) crashing and signal poor. I wrote to them to confirm my termination of the contract at the end of the 12 month period. However, 2 years later I get a letter from a debt collection company demanding money that I did not owe. As I have no debts and an excellant credit rating I was determined not to give in to them. However, they have ignored my letters thus far, although I am only about to send my third letter after largely ignoring their demands and threats of court action for £16.84!!!! They were even going to send an agent to my door, from over 100 miles away. This website is great and I have now used some of their templates to send. You have been warned stay away from 3, their customer service was the main reason that I left, including overseas call centres.:mad:0

Have just negotiated 4th contract with 3 so have to say very satisfied. it does take patience and some time to deal with customer services but for all that persistence and pleasantness defo pays off. Often think that i would never do as well if i were the customer service rep in the uk for India.! Having said that overall veryhappy as phone and dongle user. It is necessary to be determined abut what you want in dealing with them but dont forget the different cultural attitudes that pervail, respect for people always pays off and leaves less of a battle field behind. Good luck to them i say, and that after dealing with t mobile and orange as service providers.;);)
I did find though that i had many problems with three mobile that in my opinion when i would be told that something would be done it was never done and when you call back c/s you would get another person who you would have to explain all the details and problems all again!
then you would be told to remove battery and all that you had already been through plus you would have been asked for all your details on the touch tone keypad that is just a time wasting exersize all round, as when you get through you have say all info again then again to another person!
i would not want anyone to think i was blaming personel i think the whole operation is the problem!
At the end of the day if it is the way that things are done in india i/e not to resolve problems just to sent you around in circle's!
I would have prefered the call centre to have been uk based as even the people that praise this company seem to say even they are only helped when they have phoned the Scotland office!
After all when i signed up originaly i did sign up for a uk service here and not one in india
I was also the customer so i do not see why they are unable to provide a system where i should not have to be patient and persistent when i was having constant problems that i had to work hard and spend my time to get a solution for there problems.0 -
I think this phone is the most cheapest from which I saw

Well you can add me and my partner to the list of extremely disgusted customers of 3! They are currently the worst company I have EVER dealt with!
I upgraded my contract a short while ago to SIM10, some time later they rang me to say my card was declined (it expired 3 weeks after I made the order! How ironic.), so I gave them the new card details, shortly after I received a letter confirming the upgrade with my current mobile number, and two days later received a brand new SIM pack with a completely different number. Both having the same order reference number!
After 2 days of trying to get through to someone who could help, it transpired that the 'upgrade had not been processed' and the new mobile number 'didn't exist in the system'. I finally spoke to someone who told me the problem would be sorted by the following Friday ...
Thinking that the upgrade had been sorted I purchased a ZTE F102 PAYG phone, it's very cheap as I don't need anything too special. 2 days later it arrives and turns out to be faulty, possibly a previous return. Another 2 days of calls and I finally get through to someone who gives me a returns number and gets a returns package sent out to me. It's been returned, was a little over a week ago and I am still waiting for a refund!
After getting fed up with dealing with 3, I decided to terminate my contract, request a PAC and move to another provider. I called Customer Services again, told the 'representative' that I wanted to leave and the exact reason why, who then tried to sell me the SIM15 tariff! This rang alarm bells. The SIM10 tariff which I had 'upgraded' to, had STILL not been sorted! After 2 weeks, this has still not been resolved. So I have been charged £1.95 for something which 'doesn't exist'.
My partner sent off her phone to be repaired, only to be told it had liquid damage... It has never been anywhere near liquid, plus, it lives in a plastic case which protects it from things such as this! So now they expect her to pay £20 to get her phone back. No wonder they never have any loan phones in store!
Once my contract is up, 8th November I shall be going elsewhere and never returning, regardless of how 'cheap' they are! They are 'cheap' in every sense of the word!
Calling them 'cheap' doesn't really do them justice. They are con-artists plain and simple!0 -
Now I have no idea if this is true or not so I'm just putting it out there for people to put straight.
I have been told that 3 have got mobile phone manufactures to modify their phones slightly so that the metal contacts in the phone are moved slightly to one side, so that other network provider SIM cards don't line up with the contacts in the phone.
I was shown two different SIM cards (3 and Orange), and they were different but I don't know if this is true.0 -

3 themselves will unlock the phone so you can use another providers SIM in it.
Or you can use a non-3 handset with a 3 simcard.
Sounds like rubbish to me0 -

I have been told that if you post tosh on interwebs enough, eventually, a donkey will come into your bedroom, while you sleep, and molester you.0 -
@ben_reza - There are ways and means, that was totally the wrong way! Thanks for your input!
I had a funny feeling it may not be the total truth. For one thing, if that was the case, surely the phones on 3 would be at least twice the price due to a manufacturing modification?0 -
