Anyone else signed up with Justdial and have Tiscali dial up internet access ?
checked Justdial website, which says internet access numbers should start 080899 but Tiscali`s dial up packages are - 1470080899, anyone got any ideas why they have the 1470 in front ??? Cant get any replys from Justdial or Tiscali ! - Many Thanks.0 -
1470 is only needed if your number is witheld by BT .
If your number is not witheld you dont need 1470 .0 -
I have worked out the following prices charged by JDS in July and August but I can't guarantee that they are current now!
Monday 27 June midday to 0845 - 10' 12" 31.2p +Vat = 36.6p = 3.59p per minute
Wed 29 June 8.10am to 0870 - 1' 05" 7p +Vat = 8.2p = 7.61p per minute
29 June 8.17am to 0870 - 6' 04" 38.8p +Vat = 45.6p = 7.52p per minute
30 June 13.50 to 0870 - 4' 20" 27.7p +Vat = 32.5p = 7.51p per minute
Fri 1 July 17.50 to 0845 - 5' 04" 15.5p + Vat = 18.8p = 3.59p per minute
These seem to be fairly steady and were charged to me by JDS - I'm so tired now I can't face working out if they are cheap or not now!!!
Someone please let me know!!!!!!!!

https://www.dialaround.co.uk 0845 2p a min peak.
https://www.18185.co.uk 0870 4p a min peak.
Are cheaper.
BT are normally cheaper then other carriers at evenings &weekends.PF.0 -
Thanks for that!!
Now I am awake I remember that they are the numbers I've programmed into my Orchid dialler !!!!
So together with JDS and 1899 hopefully we are running at 100% MSE style!!0 -
To confirm I signed up to JDS just prior to Martin's Cheapest Home Phone piece as my Talk Talk 12 months had expired.
Confirmation of my chargeover date came through straight away but I had no password to check my account on line to make sure everything was OK.
Password was e-mailed to me on Friday and I've checked it today. Orchid dialler seems to be doing its job and all calls through JDS are 'free'.

I've emailed JustDial twice to ask the question,
"What are the times in the evenings and weekends that constitutes the free calls?" as I can't find any reference to it in their FAQ on their Website.
I got an automated reply on both occasions saying they would reply within two days but that was over a week ago.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks REDDY0 -

Have just caught up with MSE Martin's tip on cheapest home phone, but can anyone advise me on this query. If you sign up with Just Dial, all calls are automatically routed through them by my local exchange (this is what it says on their website). No PIN number or prefix number required etc. If this is the case how do you override the automatic routing if you want to use 1899 etc."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0
