Some months ago i purchased an orchid dialler and set up the dialling rules as follows:
01/02 Geographic off peak -'just-dial Saver Lite' (CPS)
01/02 Geographic numbers peak. 1899.
Landline to mobile. 18185
0844/0871 BT at all times (1280 to bypass CPS).
0845 Peak. (dialaround) 0844 462 68 68
0870 Peak 18185
0845/0870 Evenings and Weekends BT (1280 to bypass CPS).
Directory Enquiries 0800 0192 190 (when dialing 118 XXX or 192)
international landline and mobile 1899
Can anyone please tell me if the providers above still the cheapest for the calls stated ?
thanks..0 -
Think so - but NiftyList shows Dialaround's 2p/min. number for calling 0845 numbers weekday daytimes to be 0844 462 9191.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Jon S,
My v4 dialler should be with me tomorrow (Currently using a v2) so I am using the webclient to try to setup my rules. How do I programme the v4 dialler to automatically put 1280 (to bypass my CPS) for the 0845/0870 numbers.
Thanks in anticipation.

Once you are in Cwclient routing - under the "Carrier" section you will find "1280- CPS Override" on the drop down list....let's assume that is No3 in your table. Then, in the Routing section against the 0845 and 0870 lines put "3" against pm and weekend calls for both - this will route those particular calls back to BT at those particular times...0 -

fbrj,
Thanks - I understand now.

After a couple of years using 18866 I've finally been tempted to switch to the greater savings offered by 18185.
The article mentions that a downside of 18185 is the CPA payment method.
However, I just signed up and it now allows you to pay using conventional Direct Debit!
This for me is very important because it gives control back to the customer.... (never been happy with the idea of CPA on 18866 - although I didn't experience any problems).
Anyway, just thought I'd let folk know in case they didn't know already!Ah! Good old trusty beer... I hope you never change.0 -
