It's been around for at least 6 months now. Only problems can be OneTel's CS, or lack of and the fact that it's BG who are often the dearest especially for gas.0

It's cheaper for me to discontinue option 1 as I save phone calls untill the cheap period.
It is not clear if you are automatically excluded from options when committing to Justdial so I have e-mailed BT to exclude Option1 - and ask for refund as Options are paid in advance. Dead silence so far. Watch this space. :money:0 -

So, when you sign up for a CPS provider for your calls (I assume Justdial is now giving you free evening and weekend calls to UK 01/02 numbers), you stay on BT Together Option 1 for the line rental and just don't use BT for outgoing calls.
To avoid BT or JustDial per minute call charges at peak times, you can just carry on using 1899 or 18866 so calls of any length only costs 3p.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Help please!
Just when I thought it was all settled they change prices again!!
Could anyone confirm or shoot down my current guess on the best way to set up my Orchid dialler to get the best Money Saving set up for my phone use?
I am planning on -
Daytime peak
Evening
Weekend
Local...............1899 0p 3p cnx.......Just Dial free..........Just Dial free
01/02...............1899 0p 3p cnx......Just Dial free..........Just Dial free
Mobile...............18185 5p .............18185 5p..............18185 2p
0845.................dialaround* 2p.......BT 1p..................BT 1p
0870.................18185 4p .............BT 3.95p..............BT 1.5p
* the dialaround number of 0844 4626868 then needs you to enter the full INTERnational code so I guess that would need 0044845xxxxx?
Can anyone confirm that, and secondly is there any way of setting up the dialler so you just enter the normal 0845 number?
Many thanks!0 -
Looks good, but surely 18185 charge only 2p pm for weekend calls to mobiles?0
-
You are of course correct!!
It is written down on one of my pages of notes that I gleaned from assorted web sites!!
See how confusing it all is!!!!!0 -
Thanks, yes very complicated and, of course, the best deals change frequently.* the dialaround number of 0844 4626868 then needs you to enter the full INTERnational code so I guess that would need 0044845xxxxx?Can anyone confirm that, and secondly is there any way of setting up the dialler so you just enter the normal 0845 number?
By the way, don't forget to resync your Orchid box on Sunday, after the clocks have gone back!0 -
The e-mail to Orchid tech support went off this afternoon!!!
Any news and I'll repost!
Thanks for the reminder about resyncing the Orchid after the clocks change - perhaps you should post this as a seperate thread to remind everyone else!0
