  • AID TO HOSPITALS WORLDWIDE

    Re-cycling to save Lifes

A2HW is only 2 years old. It partners with the NHS to take their redundant medical equipment, refurbish it, and send this as aid to the developing world. This ground breaking charity saves the NHS money for the cost they pay in specialised waste removal and equips hospitals in some of the most deprived parts of the world. Run entirely by volunteers, most of who have special needs themselves--a local care home sorts and packs the aid giving their lives some meaningful occupation. A2HW runs entirely on donations and independent fund raising. So far this year we have shipped 25 tones of medical relief that would have been headed for landfill. This enterprise saves the British taxpayer and should and could be replicated around the country. The local hospital lets us use a dis used ware house to operate from

We really need money to keep going...so many people's lives are saved and helped.

    • Fighting Blindness to find treatments for Retinitis Pigmentosa
    • Retinitis Pigmentosa is the biggest cause of BLINDNESS in working age adults in the UK! The British Retinitis Pigmentosa Society (BRPS) was founded in 1975 and is a registered charity set up for the benefit of those with Retinitis Pigmentosa. It is a self help group which seeks to help its members live with and overcome their visual impairment problems and to bring relief by stimulating research into the causes and eventually the treatment of Retinitis Pigmentosa. This is achieved by funding a range of research projects using money raised, mainly through its volunteers for this purpose. The recent news on the Gene Therapy trials and Bionic Eye are all related to Retinitis Pigmentosa and the BRPS. I have Retinitis Pigmentosa and have just 5 degrees of central vision with a bit of peripheral vision, I REALLY want a treatment to be found!

    c. For the wounded of the UK Armed Forces
    d. For most members of the Armed Forces, the battle doesn't end when they return home. Whether physically or psychologically, the affects of war can effect the lives of our Servicemen and women and their families and yet life has to go for them. Many require years of treatment and rehabilitation which comes at a cost. Lets us say Thanks and show them how grateful we are because without them, there would be no us.
  • For those who have Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn’s Disease

    http://www.nacc.org.uk/content/home.asp

The chronic condition of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease can be debilitating and affects people of all ages. Both conditions are forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and they affect about 1 in 400 people in the United Kingdom. There is a lot of research to be done to find new ways of improving the lives of people with this condition. It affects the immune system and people with these conditions can suffer from other complications also. Not enough is known about it. Pease support this charity.
  • a) Nottingham Mencap

    c) a local independent charity supporting children and adults with a learning disability their parents, carers and families.
    d) Provides day services, information, volunteering opportunities, leisure clubs, life skills etc.in the Greater Nottingham area. Lack of funding and resources means that services for children and adults with a learning disability are in short supply. By supporting this charity you will be helping to enhance someones life.
  • I would like to nominate the charity www.help-counselling.org.uk
This service is run by volunteers in Bristol and counsells young people aged 9-25 yrs.
It is a non-profit making organisation and does vital work supporting children when they need it most.

There funding is about to run out and it will not be able to continue unless vital funds are found.
So that 9yr old who is contemplating ending their suffering may not be able to find help.
