QSA run fantastic projects in East London for people on low incomes. They're work is incredibly relevent, in particular their Made of Money project, which works with families to help them better understand and communicate around the issues of money.
Another of they're projects, Street Cred offers interest free micro-credit loans and business support to women wanting to start they're own businessess.
see they're website https://www.quakersocialaction.com
(Although the charity was founded by quakers and has quaker trustees, there is not exclusionary element to they're work- they just ask that they're staff work within the quaker ethos of equality and social justice)0 -
a) the secret world of animals
b)https://www.secretworld.org
c) It is a british wildlife charity
d) It is an amazing charity run by an amazing woman. Pauline Kidner and a tireless and dedicated crew of volunteers. It is a charity that rescues and rehabilitates the occupants of this country's incredible eco-system. It is small operation run from the home and kitchen of it's founder. The charity, volunteers, headquarters and can often be seen on tv programmes on the subject of British wildlife.
It relies solely on the generousity of donations and like the very eco-system it is trying to protect, is constantly struggling for survival.
There are so many deserving causes in the world and own our wildlife comes way down the list which is why they are so underfunded and in need of financial patronage and why any donation can make such a huge difference to their work.
Please consider this application. Thank you.0 -
a) Erbs Palsy Group
b) http://www.erbspalsygroup.co.uk/
c) Helps children affected. Educate professionals in prevention techniques
d) approx 1 in 1000 births result in this injury which can be preventable. Suffers can be left with a major disability affecting balance co ordination and restricting movement or even a paralysed arm. The group aims to put families in touch with each other by holding family fun days and its important that the children and the parents know that they are not alone. They have a comprehensive list of factsheets including how to claim dla. Newsletters are sent to all members regularly.
Although a charity, the Erbs Palsy Group offer support whether you join the group or pay your subs or not, as they feel its more important to offer support to a distressed parent at a time when you are bewildered, distressed and fearful of the future.
Obviously prevention is the key and the group raise awareness by having professional members and holding information days for health professionals so they are not just dealing with the effect, they are tackling the cause and taking positive steps to prevent this injury and devasting another family. The Cabbage

b, www.moneyformadagascar.org
c, Spending money on saving lives in Madagascar
d, In a country where 80% of the population lives on less than £1 a day, Money for Madagascar gives people tools, resources and skills to lift themselves out of poverty. I visited one of their projects in the capital of Madagascar that helps homeless women to start their own small business. Nirina started with just one crate of apples to sell. With the profits she fed her family and bought a crate and a half of apples the next day. Now Nirina and her children can afford a roof over their heads. What is more, in September her children will be starting school! With your help this inspirational charity could transform thousands more lives.0 -

(a) The Scottish Cot Death Trust
(b) www.sidscotland.org.uk
(c) Making a difference through research, education & support
(d) 1 baby dies of cot death every 9 days in Scotland and it most often occurs in the most vulnerable and deprived familes. The Scottish Cot Death Trust provides a wide range of support for these devastated families and support can often be required for many years and during different life stages eg anniversaries, landmark occasions (eg what should have been a 1st birthday, 1st day at school etc) and during subsequent pregnancies and following the arrival of a new baby. They also provide education and awareness on the issue of cot death for parents; child-carers and health professionals to raise awareness of the risks of cot death and how to reduce the risks. They fund research to help increase knowledge and understanding of why cot deaths happen. They might be a small charity but they make a huge difference to bereaved families across Scotland. They get less than 3% of their annual income from Government and therefore would really benefit from being one of the supported charities.0 -
a) The Landirani Trust
b) http://www.landirani.org/
c) A small charity, but one of a very small number that i have seen doing real work where it is needed.
d) The charity was set up to help HIV/aids orphans, they have done a lot more than that though. they have helped thousands of children, started a reforestation program, provided meal stations at school to encourage children in as well as taking volunteers out from the UK. i learnt a huge amount while i was with them.
please go and have a look at the website, look at the reports and see what they have done with very little funding so far.

a) Bluebell Campaign
b) www.bluebellday.org.uk
c) Therapy and support for women and their families suffering from Post-natal Depression
d) For me personally this charity has been a lifeline. I suffered very severe postnatal depression following the birth of my first son (now 2). Along with medication, I have attended ongoing group therapy provided by Bluebell which has helped me to understand and explore the issues underlying my condition and helps me to support my optimum mental health as a mum. 2 years on, I still attend the group as I am expecting my second child and the group is helping me to minimise the risk of postnatal depression as I become a mum for the second time. This support is vital through the vulnerable stages of pregnancy, labour, birth and the early weeks and months with the new baby.
This is a very isolating, lonely and stigmatising condition and, I feel, is little understood by society or professionals in any great depth. The charity provides therapies and other supports for women suffering from postnatal depression as well as a national helpline which will be invaluable for new mums who are suffering in silence. It campaigns to reduce the stigma about this terrible condition and also supports the families of those women who are struggling.
Please support this charity for new mums and their babies and partners across all areas of society.0 -
I would like to nominate Cystic Fibrosis Trust UK.
Website: http://www.cftrust.org.uk/
The average life expectancy of someone with Cystic Fibrosis is 31. Yet there they don't receive prescriptions because when the exemptions were put in place; so few CF suffers survived childhood (see Martin's blogs on this).
They desperately need support for research and clinical trials for development of life saving cures.
CF, a genetic disease, affects the lungs and pancreas, causing unbelievable suffering and early death. Only with support for research can a cure ever be found.
Please support Cystic Fibrosis
thank you0
