a) spiritaid
b) www.spiritaid.org
c)humanitarian aid to children both home and abroad
d)the charity was founded in 2001 by david hayman the actor to help children around the world. a very high percentage of children in afghanistan were dying before the age of 5 due to dysentry and other diseases that we take for granted. since the mobile clinics have operated there very few of these children now die of these diseases. an orphanage was adopted after the tsunami hit sri lanka. here boys are not only looked after but they are taught a trade. homes are built in one of the townships in south africa so that families can live with sanitation which is rare. deprived children in inner cities in the uk have had christmas presents and a party and have had opportunites that they would not normally get due to the involvement of david hayman who has used his industry to educate young people. all monies raised go to the children instead of administration!!0 -

NSPCC please
The purpose is
To stop abuse of children, FULL STOP!
The aim is
We want to see a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. To do this, we have four objectives:- To mobilise everyone to take action to end child cruelty.
- To give children the help, support and environment they need to stay safe from cruelty.
- To find ways of working with communities to keep children safe from cruelty.
- To be, and be seen as, someone to turn to for children and young people.

C A N Northampton
http://www.can.org.uk/
http://cancharity.spaces.live.com/
C A N Are a Northamptonshire / bedfordshire based Charity, dealing with the social issues of Drugs, Alcohol and Homelessness.
They also offer help / advice on Money problems, I.E gambling debts etc.
With this very difficult area that C A N work in they are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain their services, due to lack of funding, Local Council cut backs affect C A N tremendously.
many of the outfield workers who either work for, or are volunteers for C A N are reformed drug users / alcoholics etc.
I do think that this charity deserves more support then they currently get, The drug part is always a taboo subject.
The Charity also help youngsters from families who are caught up in the whole Drug, Alcohol and homelessness scenario.0 -
a. The Official Name of the Charity.
London Gay Symphony Orchestra
b. A link to the Website of the Charity.
https://www.lgso.org.uk
c. A desciption of no more than 8 words of the charity - this is crucial, its what will be used to describe the charity in the vote.
Welcoming regardless of sexuality, providing supportive creative space
d. One paragaph only (max 150 words) of why this charity should be supported; whether that's for your personal reasons or more generally.
Passion. Vibrancy. Difference. LGSO celebrates all of these. Supporting hundreds of people each year who might be questioning their sexuality, and making fantastic music at the same time. Challenging stereotypes, we offer an alternative view to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) life. We bring music to the masses and offer innovative programmes and opportunities for all.
We operate on a tiny budget so any support makes a substantial difference to the orchestra. A donation from MSE would significantly increase the number of activities we could undertake including starting a project to support young LGBT musicians struggling with their sexuality in schools.
Support a small charity – your money will make a bigger difference.0 -
