Kenward Trust - New Life From Addiction.

HELP WITH ALCOHOL/ DRUGS PROBLEMS AND HOMELESSNESS
Have you done it? Looked at the wino on the park bench or glanced at the junkie slumped in the door way and thought that'll never be me? I did, but I was wrong. I lost good friends, family, job, car, home through drinking. What started off as a way to relax turned into a way to survive the day. When I tried to stop, I realised I couldn't. If it could happen to me, it could happen to you or someone you know. Thankfully the Kenward Trust were there to help. Although a small charity they offer advice and support to anyone in the UK. The Kenward Trust helps individuals and their families with alcohol, drug and homeless problems. Please help them to help others.

1. I would like to nominate The Smile Train, please.
2. http://www.smiletrain.org/site/PageServer?pagename=smiles
3. Corrects cleft palates of "cursed" children.
4. Children of poor parentage born with a cleft, face a lifetime of misery as "cursed" children, hidden away by parents, or taunted and scorned by their contemporaries.
Yet 45 minutes of surgery at a cost of around £125 restores their appearance and gives them a second chance at life and a future now filled with hope.
Just check on "Before" and "After" Images and let them speak for these children. Truly you will smile along with them.
( ALL donations from the public go towards programmes: all non-programme expenses are paid for by members of the Smile Board.)0 -

Tiger Awareness
http://tigerawareness.co.uk
Raising world awareness of the tiger's plight
Run solely by my brother with close family support to raise awareness at every level of the tiger's plight in India. Receives no income from his efforts - has sold his home and ventured to India independently over last few years to link with villages/schools and anyone who will listen there and across the world throught networks he tries to tap into to keep people talking about it but now needs efforts putting into action with greater support from everyone who cares. Committed, dedicated, even possessed at their plight but with every good intention to help make a difference to stop them from only being seen in zoos. This charity only uses the funds for the tiger, no administration costs, etc, they are all borne by the passionate founder, Philip Davis. We are very proud of him and achievements to date but more still needs to be done.0 -
a) The Railway Children
b) http://www.railwaychildren.org.uk/
c) They support street children living alone and at risk on the streets.
In the UK, over 1000000 children run away every year. In India, more than 12 million children live on the streets. Also, runaway or abandoned children are most vulnerable to exploitation, abuse and corruption during the first few days or weeks of leaving home but few charities are able to help at this point.
The Railway Children work in the UK, Russia, Africa, South America and Asia. They provide early intervention schemes to help runaways return home and they also try to address the problems they were running away from. They also provide longer term care, such as setting up shelters and villages for children who can't return home. Finally they provide training, counselling, health care and clothing/food packs for children who are still on the street.
The Railway Children have been proven to be successful at wisely using any funds they receive - for example in India they started by helping 200 children a year; now they help over 6000.0 -
Coventry Philharmonic Society
www.covphilchoir.org.uk
Providing high class, low cost, classical choral music.
We are committed to bringing good quality choral music to the public at a price most can afford (max £10). We hire world class soloists and musicians to accompany our concerts, paid for mostly by subscriptions from the (approx 100) members. Our current income only allows this in one out of three of our concerts, so any extra funds would allow us to increase this. Additional to this we encourage and train young singers and conductors within the choir. Without these, classical choral singing will become extinct. To encourage young singers to join, students/pupils pay zero subscription; those aged up to 25 a reduced subscription. This is one of our charitable objectives, but obviously the more successful we are in this respect, the less money we raise from subscriptions. A catch 22 situation we are happy to have, which can be alleviated by any additional funding you give us.0 -

Name : Gofal Cymru (Care Wales)
Website :http://www.gofalcymru.org.uk/
Supporting people and carers through Mental Health illness
"Mental illness affects 1 in 4 people in the UK” (A figure which is rising).
“It will affect us all, directly or indirectly, at some point in our lives. The stigma of mental illness is still so overwhelming it prevents people from seeking the support they need and even from disclosing their illness to family and friends. This needs to change."
Gofal Cymru provides support and assistance for people with mental illnesses, enabling them to manage their mental health, overcome stigma and live independently. Services (delivered and developed in partnership with local authorities, local health boards and statutory bodies) include tenancy support, supported housing, out of hours and more. This also provides a much needed respite for carers (usually family and friends).
Debt is often a pre-cursor to or result of mental illness. Part of the work provided by Gofal Cymru supports people with money management and returning to work.0
