If you have home contents insurance already then you might find you have personal possessions insurance without even realising it. It's certainly worth checking. The only thing to watch out for is that these policies tend not to cover the cost of any calls made from the phone if it's used by the thief. If they ring eastern Europe or Asia (as is often the case) this can run into hundreds or thousands of pounds. I pay £2.50 a month to cover against this and, personally, I think it's worth every penny.If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!
I insured my phone through this company because I just missed the time to do it with 02. The service has been appalling!!! I broke my phone and had to send it for repair but the terrible service started before I had even sent it;
I had to send scanned documents that they claimed never to have received. I spent hours (literally) at a time trying to progress my claim.
When I eventually got them to accept an email from 02 (they did not want to but would offer no alternative.
It's a long story but I had to make phone call after phone call waiting on the phone for at least an hour at a time. I was promised call backs by named people once they had my phone they never came.
It is clear that this company are trying to trip people up as if you do not progress your claim in a certain amount of time it becomes invalid, with call wait times of an hour plus I don't know if they could actually get away with enforcing that. But I was giving them everything they required immediately and they would only move it on if I called them and waited in queues.
Lesson from this is insure with your provider if you have a phone worth insuring. martins Tips about whether you should insure are spot on, but of you have an expensive phone of £200 + take the providers insurance!0 -
I can only concur with the post above, Protect Your Bubble are the worst company I have ever experienced.0

I bought my current phone (Blackberry Curve) in Belgium as it was on special offer and therefore cheaper than buying it in the UK. It isn't tied to any contract and I use it with a SIM only service from Orange.
I just tried to add it to my home insurance and was told that it can't be covered because "it was bought outside the UK". I can't believe that it's possible to discriminate against a handset because it was bought in another EU country! It's the same handset as could be bought in the UK and it was actually bought from Carphone Warehouse's Belgian operations (called "Phone House").
Does anyone have any experience of this problem? If so, do you know any solutions? I would like the handset covered for loss/theft/damage and the phone covered for fraudulent use.
Thanks!

Hi,
I recently took out a new contrat with Three and took the deal out in-store. I was told insurance could be added anytime.
So today I called Three and was told I could not have their insurance as I had the phone for over 45 days. I have had it for 48 days. I am very careful with my phone but I would still like to protect it. I am with Halifax but only have a basic account. Any suggestions would be great. Many thanks.0 -
