  • Hi just been reading people's mobile insurance stories, I rang Protect Your Bubble as was thinking of getting son an iphone and wondered what happened if he lost it as they say that is covered and they said if he lost it I would have to wait for the claim to go through first which sent alarm bells ringing as if he lost it why would I need to wait for a claim to go through, as if we need to prove it so I asked for their address and when googled the address it showed many other previous Insurance firms people have said they have been ripped off by including Talkcover, Gadget Assure, Uk-Mobile Insurance, Handbagcover.com, all at same address-not sure if I allowed to put address, so although they offer cheap insurance, it probably because they will find a way never to pay out and are just keeping all the money.
  • I got my Girlfriend's son's 2 HTC Desire's for christmas and need good cover for loss and theft and accidental damage. Can anyone recommend a good insurance company as I'm only reading about the bad ones on here.
    Many thanks

Unfortunately on forums such as this you only hear from people with problems. Without knowing how many claims are settled successfully it's difficult to get a true picture of which insurance firms settle fairly. Whichever firm you go for, ensure that you read the policy thoroughly first before committing yourself. Don't assume that anything is covered unless it says it is.

In your case it is particularly important to clarify in advance that your girlfriend's sons are considered as immediate family as I suspect many company's may not consider them as such. Their age may be an issue also.

Can you not add it to your home insurance?
I have just added 3 smart phones and laptops for an extra £40 a year.
£50 excess and £1500 claim limit.

if you add phone insurance onto your house insurance and you need to make a claim re your phone surely your house premium would go up the following year

  • Trying to get my partners new HTC Desire insured & have been stumped by the "proof of purchase" on the T & Cs - we have not paid for the handset itself as it came with the contract. Been nervous about signing up for some after reading all the horror stories so want be sure we will be covered. Can someone clarify for me please? Thanks!
  • My DS has had a mobile since he was 11, & always been very sensible & never lost/damaged one. I have recently purchase a HTC wildfire as a birthday present, and as it is expensive to replace, have considered insurance.
However, all the insurers I have looked at, that will include family members as 'auth users' all quote over the age of 16?

Anyone have any ideas where I can insurance to cover him?

    Thanks

little bit of advice needed please... my neice had her phone (not sure make or model but not a cheep one) stolen from where she works, she has a halifax reward account, one reason she took the account was due to the phone insurance offered. when she told them that her phone had been stolen they basicaly said 'tough, you didnt give us your imei so your phone's not covered'
they didnt tell her at the time of taking the account in branch that she needed to do this.. is there anything she can do??
