  • Orange have their own insurance policy, and from previous experience they seem to be pretty good. Not much hassle, but like all insurance you need to read the T&C before you take them out. 6p/m for any phone that isnt an Iphone, another reason why HTC are better then apply :D

Hi just been reading people's mobile insurance stories, I rang Protect Your Bubble as was thinking of getting son an iphone and wondered what happened if he lost it as they say that is covered and they said if he lost it I would have to wait for the claim to go through first which sent alarm bells ringing as if he lost it why would I need to wait for a claim to go through, as if we need to prove it so I asked for their address and when googled the address it showed many other previous Insurance firms people have said they have been ripped off by including Talkcover, Gadget Assure, Uk-Mobile Insurance, Handbagcover.com, all at same address-not sure if I allowed to put address, so although they offer cheap insurance, it probably because they will find a way never to pay out and are just keeping all the money.
Hi, I was looking for an insce co. that would cover my son's HTC wildfire. When looking through the small-print, a few mentioned age restrictions to 16+
I emailed 'protectyourbubble' & they confirmed that as long as the actual contract was in my name, that the phone would be covered by anyone I authorised to use it.
I took out the cover & paid £16.99 for an annual policy which provides cover up to £150 (I can get the same phone on PAYG £129) and also £9.50 has tracked via quidco.
For £7.49, I'm willing to take a chance, but looking at the policies out there, it does seem that making any successful claim may prove painful, always, always read the small print BEFORE making a claim!

  • With 'LLoyds TSB' you can upgrade from the free 'Classic' current account to a 'Added Value' account - either Silver, Gold, Platinum or Premier.

All 'Added Value' accounts include Mobile Phone insurance, including Loss, and Silver is only £7.95 a month (£3 for the first 2 months) and additionally gives you some travel and car breakdown cover.

Additionally you can add 'Vantage' to any current account and get 2% interest if you have £1000+, 3% on £3000+ and 4% if you have between £5000 and £7000.

I have been with LLoyds for about a year now and have found them to be very good.

Just be careful to read the policy first - I have mobile phone insurance through First Direct, but, having read the policy, it only covers against Theft/Loss, and not accidental damage

  • Hi there this is a compare website that I often use it compares mobile insurance as well as other gadgets.

    amazingfreephones.2u.co.uk/insurance/

I insured one of my phones using this website and it was about 15 months old. I have also notived that there are other companies far cheaper than the standard phone operators themselves that offer the same sometimes better insurance at half the price.

  • I'm not very impressed with Talkcover.

I reported my daughter's iPhone as stolen last week. The line was very noisy and all I could hear was people laughing and shouting in the background.

They said they were in the middle of a training session. It sounded more like a party.

I have a hearing condition and their operator did try to improve the sound quality but it was still very noisy.

I received my claim form via email and posted it to them the same day.

The next day the police managed to recover my daughter's iPhone so we contacted Talkcover to cancel the claim. They confirmed that this was being carried out and that the claim process was stopped

Today I got an email and a phone call from Talkcover for details regarding my claim and it transpired that someone had overridden the instruction to close the claim and they were actually in the process of dealing with it again.

So another phone call and now I'm expecting to find that they've billed my credit card for the excess on the policy as well. They seem like a bunch of amateurs.

I am going to america soon. Rbs mentioned if I wanted to upgrade my account to royalties gold for £12.95 pm this includes holiday insurance & mobile phone.

They also have a royalties account, £6.95pm which includes the mobile phone cover but not holidays.

They both include cashback from things too - not sure what tho beyond ticketmaster.

I currently have an old iphone, so was thinking really should get insurance if I upgrade this year, but deciding tween rbs 6.95 or another. Anyone else on royalties? x
