Anyone had any experience of Protect your bubble.com for mobile phone insurance?
Prices look competitive and there don't seem to be too many exclusions.
Regards J
I was looking at this company as well, however like some other companies they have a £100 excess and don't cover loss:-
What we will not cover
•
The loss of electronic equipment other than your mobile phone or PDA.
•
The loss of any iPhone.

Hi all,
like many people on here, I want to insure my iPhone 3GS without paying the very large sums charged by O2 etc.
I think some people had already mentioned Endsleigh: I have my home contents with them, and on their policy it's possible to add specific mobile phone cover. I've got mine covered for £40 - that includes accidental loss and theft throughout Europe, as well as some cover for unauthorised calls. I haven't had to claim, so I don't know if the cover is really as good as it appears - but on the face of it, it's a very good deal.
The other option may be with your current account. I'm with Barclays, and there are a couple of options where I pay a monthly fee for extras, including mobile insurance. The cheapest one is £5 per month, which on it's own is cheaper than a lot of the specialist phone insurers.0 -
Ive just signed up with these guys for my iPhone insurance and its saved be about £4.50 a month on what i was paying through DialaPhone. www.GadgetSureUK.com, they also do a multi gadget insurance which I'm considering. As a control freak why did I let my debts control me for so long? Now I love the power of being in control!0

So you take out a contract on a phone, and you are coerced into taking out insurance by monthly direct debit; then the contract comes to an end, but the insurance keeps on running.
The insurance company (often linked to the major retailer) stays v. quiet; no statements, no annual reminders, no anything, so if you forget to check your direct debits, you are a v. soft target. I thought I was on top of my finances until I discovered one that has been running for 5 years beyond contract termination for the phone. Is there any way of getting any money back, because this is not right.0 -
Anybody know of a company that will insure handsets bought off ebay?0

Hi I was just reading THeBear98's post and find myself in a similar position. I bought a phone via a company called A1comms on an orange contract. Insurance was include free for the first 3 months. The phone never arrived and after about a month found out that it was damaged in transit by Royal mail and it was sent back. A1comms then sent me out a different phone with a new contract and insurance. What I didn't realise is that I had two insurances running one for the phone I never received and one for my then current phone. Only after looking at my bank statment today in an excel spreadsheet do I realise that I have been paying for the same insurance twice for the last 3 years! I rang the Insurance company which is CityMain and they have cancelled both insurances as neither phone is being used but said to me that I should have contacted them to cancel the insurance for the first phone. As I said to them I didn't even receive the phone, any paperwork, no insurance documents as it was sent back. So how was I to know that I was paying twice. I just kept seeing City Main as a direct debit but far enough spaced out to not know there were two coming out. Now if they had sent reminders like most insurances do I would have known in the first year even then I still would have ended up paying for years worth of insurance without realising it.
Does anyone know if we have a legal stand on this?0 -
check out https://www.jsinsurance.co.uk you pay £4.99 a month!0

Endsleigh won't insure my new phone because I didn't buy it from the UK.
OK so Google DHLed it because I don't want to wait a couple of months, what difference does that make? Anyway...
insurance2go (.co.uk/mobile) 'plus' option seems ok, working out at £53.91 per year. The fine print has the usual don't leave it unattended in public, on view in a car etc. but the 'plus' option specifically includes loss and pickpocketing.
Is work defined as 'a public place'? A secure office with card access but lots of people have access to the building.
High excess (£100 - £50) and a max of £400 are down points for me.
The other option is Barclays - upgrading my current account and paying £5 per month. It does cover 'loss'. Doesn't mention pickpocketing... maybe a backpack could be considered 'a place to which other people have access'.
That would also mean it's not covered if I leave it on my office desk. But then do *ANY* policies cover that?0 -

But for a standard mobile (not an iphone) the excess is £25, they do cover for loss, or so they say, and the premium is £43.89 for the year.

Hi,
I have been reading this thread with much interest, however I am still unsure of who to get iphone insurance from with a reasonable excess & where the small print doesn't cover you for what you need.
Can anyone recommend a proper company rather than a cowboy outfit?
Thanks,0
