Please don't use CUSC. They are complete cons. When you eventually get a reply they will dodge your claim. Martin really should not plug them as having good feedback. All feedback I can see is awful. Wish I had looked at that before I insured my iphone which was pick pocked and they would not pay up!0

i've dropped my phone and broken it, however i don't want any of my other insurance policies to be affected in any other way because i've made a claim for a handset...its a bb bold 9000. i'm thinking of just throwing it in the bin and cancelling the insurance as i've had it for 15+ months and my upgrade is at the end of the month.0

So does anyone know a reliable iPhone 3GS insurance company?
As the one I'm getting is on Tesco Mobile & as far as I'm aware they do not offer insurance0 -
I took out mobile insurance via the TalkCover (the same company as Supercover insurance) and have had an awful experience trying to make a claim. It is clear that their business model is based on trying every trick to avoid paying a claim, They do not reply to emails or letters. They promise to phone back but never do. They have refused my claim saying I did not report the theft within 12 hours, even though I reported it within half an hour and have documentary evidence of that (and they have been told that by my network provider).
I really think that the MoneySavingExpert website should not be recommending them. I only took out the insurance because I thought I could trust a recommendation from this website. They have very bad reviews on other sites.0 -
After doing some research on the internet it appears both CUSC and Talkcover appear to be useless and have a long list of get out clauses and pay out very rarely
There appears to be no loss cover anywhere for iPhones (except O2 very expensive cover)
It appears at present no one is offering a good insurance package for the iPhone
apart from the extortionate £15 with O20 -

£100 Excess for any claim on the iphone! that seems like way too much to me. i'm going to cancel mine and go else were.
Have already mentioned this elsewhere
Talkcover DO NOT offer loss cover it plainly says on the opening page (except Apple iPhones)0 -
- Theft, both attended and unattended from secure vehicle or premises.
- Loss (except Apple iPhones)
- Accidental damage
- Fraudulent Call Cover
- Water damage

Anyone had any experience of Protect your bubble.com for mobile phone insurance?
Prices look competitive and there don't seem to be too many exclusions.

Having had friends with dire experiences of both Talkcover and CUSC (in terms of claiming incompetence and 'invisible' T&Cs) I spent a lot of time looking around and I ended up with:
a) Endlseigh 'top up' on contents insurance for student son (based on price, convenience and recommendation from his student friends who have claimed)
b) Extension to house contents insurance (not with Zurich!) for the rest of us. In fact when I spoke to them the phones were already covered against theft for all members of the household (including away from home, pickpocketing etc) and the only extra was for accidental damage. This was an extra 7ukp per month but covers a four adult household and includes general items against accidental damage as well.
I'm guessing house contents option comes up cheaper as its a marginal extra on the existing business. I didn't have to register individual items valued below 1500ukp but was advised to keep all details of serial numbers etc safe for any valuable items below that limit simply because it helps track them down and process a claim faster. Similarly they recommend photographs of small valuables such as jewellery/clocks/antiques etc.0 -
I know this is not much use if your iphone is stolen but Apple offer their own kind of extended warranty. It may be of interest to some as it covers breakdown, servicing and repairs and is reasonably priced at £55 - £60 (I think so anyway)
You can find the details it under AppleCare Protection for iPhone at the Apple UK website. Cos I'm a newbie MSE won't let me post the link directly but if you put http before store.apple.com/uk/product/MC265ZM/A you should find it0
