[quote=mogginsMy parents gave me the money to have it done as I was feeling frumpy and old.
    [/quote]

oh dont say that moggins, but i do know how you feel - now i work at canary wharf im surrounded by pretty young trendy things - and i look myself and feel old and frumpy.

I went into Boots yesterday trying out some make up - do you know i really dont know what colours etc suit me now its been so long??? I dont wear lots of make up but usually put on abit of tinted moisturiser to give a bit of colour to the old skin that seems to start to sallow as you get older:eek:

I think i need to go have a makeover so they can tell me what to use now!

(((scuzz)) hope your have a good day xx

I really should not post on this thread until I am actually awake. I meant to add that I was having a lovely nights sleep until 2am when we were woken up by DD screaming the house down. She'd only managed to get her hand trapped down the side of her bed :D I thought she was being murdered the amount of noise she was making!

    Morning :hello:

had an early night last night as I had a bad headache, thought I could sleep it off but still got it this morning so resorted to painkillers,

DD and DS have gone on the bus today for the first time, DS did go yesterday but DD wanted him to tell her what it's like before she tried it, I used to drive them but when I start my new job they will have to use the bus so I wanted them to start while I was still here to get into a routine

pennypincher pineapple gravy sounds good, can you post recipe :D

penelope there is a thread on packed lunches here

elona I had a bad loaf in BM last week and took me a few days to try another but it turned out great :D
a pal from work has written out some great recipes for me so will be experimenting soon

joannasmum (((((bighug))))) we had a car stolen off drive after they got hold of keys while we were in bed, horrible feeling :( they did find our car and insurance paid for damage but it never felt the same after

    Morning all!

Looks misty and wet outside today - not great, but good for the garden. PIL come for morning and lunch today so bracing myself. Luckily because I was Flying with Moggins et al yesterday house looks pretty good apart from ironing pile from hell. Am a bit tired as went to bed at 13.30 as OH still away and was busy celebrating my plum jam success!!! :j

Snowy - good luck with the job applications. Did you get your Sainsbury one in?

PP - wishing you a restful day.

ageandjo - I'm keeping my distance as I know what I'm like with PMT ;)

Hey elona - will be using PIL bread maker for first time today so hope I don't have any baking disasters. Think how much your family love your baking and keep going.

Joannasmum - I'm so pleased the police were helpful, hope you have a better day today

thriftlady - looking out for your lunch pack ideas - thanks in advance!

Another day at home, with a break for swimming at lunchtime. Nothing too exciting planned - might stick the washing machine on depending on what I can round up to go in!

    Morning all!

Scuzz its the 3rd anniversary for me in a couple of weeks so I have every sympathy for you.:grouphug: in fact I have had a few tears this morning as DS1 has his first day at college and Dad's not here to see him look so grown up:(

My first day off in ages where I've got the house to myself, everyone at school, college or work!:j so some baking and flyladying for me! Bathroom to be tackled today.

    Have a good day all.

  • Good morning all!

Scuzz (((((hugs))))) to you on this difficult day. Try not to dwell on the "if onlys" just reflect on the happy times.

Joannasmum hope you manage to feel a bit better today, totally understand your revulsion that some scumbag is touching your beloved angel's things!! But in truth they will, if they've touched them at all, only have done it to throw them away. Maybe not much comfort, but I think I'd prefer that!! Glad you've found the police helpful, hope the insurance people are as good!! You take care. ((((hugs))))

Shez I can't believe you didn't hear the rain last night!!!!! I often sleep through storms, but the rain last night was so heavy it woke me, without thunder and lightening!!! I know the garden still needs tons of water but not
    that much at once!!

Snowy glad to hear you're buying new to strain your jelly!!:rotfl: :rotfl: I'm with you, not matter how freshly laundered, I couldn't stomach using something "used"!:D Good luck with the job applications, hope you find something less draining on you. But don't hurry yourself too much, I'm sure you're entitled to a lot more paid sickleave first!!

Moggins, funny isn't it how we always want what we haven't got? I've spent a lifetime straightening my wavy/curly red/blonde hair ( now greying!!:rotfl: ) whilst hankering after dead straight black hair!!:D Tried dying it black when I was 14, it came out khaki green!:o Some concoction I got from Woolworth's!! Hope yours goes well this afternoon!

Must get off now, I need to join Flyladies today. Not entirely sure what I'll get done, but anything will be an improvement on the last few days!!

Hope everyone has a good day!

    CMxx

Joannas mum - have you phoned your contents insurers too - they should cover the cost of the locks being changed. Sorry to hear about it all - must be very angering and scary.

    Morning all

Well hopefully the connection to the net will last longer today. Not working today so I'm off out with a friend to watch her spend money - she's very good at it and I like to say "oooooh that's cheaper in so and so" she never listens but hey!

    Brekie was toast and cereal
Lunch - DD's and DH have taken HM wholemeal rolls with salami, a tub of nuts and raisins, an apple and grapes and carrot sticks for lunch.
Dinner - Some sort of vegi soup with the chicken stock from sunday.

It's really warm and muggy here this morning so anything more energetic than making the bed will have to wait until I get back.

    Have a lovely day all.
