morning all,
I have been too busy to read all the threads yesterday and today but hope everyone is ok.
Joannasmum - Hope you are feeling ok this morning, I can completely understand how you feel about them having your little ones things - I think the punishments should be much more severe for doing despicable things like that.
Scuzz - ((hugs)) to you today. I lost my dad 10 years ago. The first 3 or 4 years it were hard but as the sadness eased it was replaced with gratitude and now I feel the same level of love for him that I always had, it doesn't go away.
Once again not much os likely today. For one thing I am at work, and for another I am incredibly stiff after my dance lesson last night. I really enjoyed it but felt like I was going to pass out at one stage, seriously unfit!!
Picked 14lbs of sloes on Sunday, have never known them to be ready so early, and 2lbs of elberberry which is now made into cordial, think I put too many cloves in it though and tastes a little bit like mulled wine which I don't like.
Have a good Monday all of you and ((hugs)) to all who need them.
doddsyWe must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Postman has just brought me a big box of freebies!!!! I took out a magazine subscription (3 issues for a £1, then cancel DD!!!) and it came with a free gift of tigi bedhead, but they have run out of that, so have sent me 3 bottles of imperial leather foam burst shower gel, and 3 large bottles of imperial leather double bubble bathtime!!!!! Really chuffed with it all!!!!
Oh, ive always had very straight, fine, long dark hair, and always wanted it to be curly!!!! The amount of money ive spent on perms over the years, but because my hair is so fine, the curls never stayed in, and ended up slightly wavy!!!! Ive given up now, and leave it straight, but have just started dyeing it for a change, so now instead of brown, its mystic black!!!!!!
(((Scuzz))) hope today will be ok for you and yours xxxx0 -
Morning all :hello:
((((HUGS)))) to scuzz and joannasmum :grouphug:
Got a somewhat stressful day ahead, I suspect. First of all, I have a meeting with two of the directors at lunchtime - my boss was supposed to be there but his wife got short notice of a date for a long-awaited investigative operation, so he's off work until tomorrow while she gets over the general anaesthetic and I have to handle the directors all by myself and my brain is really not in gear!On top of that, my contact at the Housing Association is currently standing over his solicitor with a metaphorical thumbscrew trying to persuade them that sitting on documents for 10 days is not acceptable, especially when I'm supposed to exchange by next Monday and my HA contact is going on hols this Saturday! He is being extremely helpful and says he'll chase the solicitor again this morning and call me at lunchtime.
Weather seems to be clearing up now after thunder and pouring rain all night, so I hope it gets less damp later. Forecast said temperatures could go up to 26 degrees, so presumably if the water stays in the air it'll be horribly muggy!
Re unfortunate teenage hair-dying experiences, I once agreed (aged 17) to dye my mid-brown hair black for a school production. I tried it - and nothing happenedMy hair's quite resistant to most things, it's not very good at holding a curl either!
See you later

Goodmorning everyone,
We've had a mostly fine day with a few showers here. Made a loaf of bread which turned out well. It's called No Knead Bread and it was easy. I finally got around to sorting out my computer this arv. I had to update my spreadsheets etc only to find when he backed up all my gear he must have went back awhile as all my new work isn't there. I thought that's fine, I kept all my spending for the house in a seperate plastic sleeve. I will just re-do it. It has just dissappeared. I've wasted the whole bloody afternoon looking for it.
Dh hasn't touched it either. I bet.
My computer is still not right either. When I scroll down it sort is wavy/ghostingIt's not crashing so that's the main thing.
Scuzz (((hugs)))I usually do something special to me on an anniversary. My dad died when I was 16 & he loved to cook. My favourite cake he made was Orange Cake which I re-named Dad's Orange Cake and I make it on his death anniversary. I have one piece for me and one piece for him.
Think I might do what Pink suggested and re-write my post in another window. It's too hard to scroll down now. Have a great day and those with PMT ((((((hugs)))))) ByeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Morning everyone,
Special thoughts fro Joanne's mum and Scuzz.
Got the dentist at lunchtime to look at my broken tooth:eek: I hate going although I am getting better about it with age.
Meeting last night didn't last too long, despite having 16 residents there to oppose something (we normally don't have any).
Must get on and do the minutes and plan my flylady challenge for this evening.

I know how that feels, my DD cried everytime i left her at nursery, and everyday at school, she would cry and grab hold of me, so her teachers used to pull her into the classroom off me. I used to leave crying and feeling dreadful, but also knowing full well she had gone into the class and was now happy as larry!!!! She did this all the way to year3, and even now (year 4) she still insists i walk to the classroom with her, and will still cling onto my arm until the last minute when she has to go in!!!! Saying all that, she loves school and is now doing really well, its just something she does for my benefit!!!!0 -

Morning all :hello:
((((((hugs))))) Scuzz. It's hard not to get upset at the loss of a loved one but console yourself with all the wonderful memories you have.
Snowy I don't do well if I go for a few nights without a good sleep. I don't know how you are even managing to stand up. (((hugs)))) Good luck with the job apps too.
Bargain try not to get too stressed about all that is going on today. I used to get myself sooooo worked up about stuff and now I just tell myself to take everything one very small step at a time. I now find that I don't worry about things that will happen tomorrow or the day after as I am too busy focusing on what needs doing today. Hope you get the solicitors sorted out though. That must be a worry.
Icemaiden It is so hard for a mother to walk away from her crying child but as you said she was more than likely having fun five minutes after you left. My younger sister has two children, one aged 4 and one aged 2. She is now regretting the fact that she never let them stay over with relatives and such as she cannot go anywhere without them. They cry and scream the place down if she leaves them with my mum - even when she tells them its only for an hour or so. Dread to think what will happen when my niece starts school.
Joannasmum glad to hear your got the locks changed and that the police were helpful. Didn't finish reading yesterday's thread so I'm not sure if you got the car back or not. Hope you feel better today though. (((hugs)))
I "tried" to make plum jam last night. I got carried away reading my book while the hard boil was taking place and I now have what resembles plum toffee. :rotfl: :rotfl: The knife stands upright in the jar! Oh well, a lesson learned and all that.
I think I will try making some diabetic cookies today. I want to give my dad a small present from DS and DD for Christmas. Like me, he is diabetic but he has a very sweet tooth and finds it hard to resist biscuits so I thought making him something that he could nibble on without the guilt would be a good thing. Let's just hope last night's cooking disaster isn't the first of three (well, they do say these things come in threes, don't they?).
The next hour or so will be spent on the phone (does that count for the FLC?) trying to get lots of stuff sorted out.
Breakfast: Toast with marmalade (couldn't get the knife back out of the plum jam jar :rotfl: )
Lunch: Home made soup with wholemeal bread
Dinner: Sausage casserole with mashed potatoes and lots of veg"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
