That's a clever idea, it's really pretty and something the child will probably keep when it grows older.

My mum made a cuddly toy fox for me when I was only little, and I've still got it now. It was always my favourite because it was handmade just for me!
:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:
  • Does anyone know if I can get a Peppa Pig cross stitch ? and if so, where from.

    Thanks

Was someone on here looking for a Taylor of Gloucester chart? If so, please PM me as I've found one when having a sort through some boxes. I'll post this on the other thread too.

  • I've finished the bookmark for DH's aunt! :j:j:j Just as well as her birthday party is tomorrow! Finished most of the stitching last week, so this week has been the backstitching and finishing off. Was hoping the iron on vilene I had would bond the felt to the back of the bookmark, but it didn't, so just spent the past hour stitching it on. I chose to use cream thread for this so it wouldn't show up on the front, but you can see it on the back. It looks a little bit messy, but not too bad for the 'untrained' eye!

Anyone know anywhere any good that sells perle and light effects threads? Had a quick look around google alot of places sell them but not both not in same place. Planning my project to take to America when I go on holiday. Need something to keep me sane.

    Kind wishes to all

  • Have been lurking but not posting due to life's little difficulties. But now I need some advice.

For my birthday I was given a 27" x 12" hand rotating tapestry frame made by Siesta Frames. No problem with the frame - my next planned project will fit nicely on it. However, I can see that trying to sew whilst holding the thing is likely to be rather difficult.

Can anyone recommend a suitable floor stand which won't take up too much room? I would really like a Stitch Smart stand, but according to the blurb, it only takes frames up to 24" wide icon9.gif.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ro

I use one of these . It takes any size of frame and as you weight it by putting the plate under the foot of your chair it doesn't topple.

It is also very minimalist, swings back out of the way when not needed and is by far the easiest frame to "flip" when you need to get at the back.

The only downside is that it isn't cheap but I've used mine almost daily for over 10 years now and it is still as good as new. They do come up sometimes on ebay.

Do you have a dining table you can work at and rest the frame on the edge of the table as you stitch?
My frame is only 18 x 9 but I lean it on the edge of a fold up table I have in front of me when stitching which is great because I have somewhere to put my chart too.
