I had it for a christmas present last year and it's a fab gift for a cross stitcher.

Hi, I hope someone here can point me in the right direction. I have just finished cross stitching a baby quilt (second one! first one was for the gift and this one was initially too, but then I decided it will be for my future little one).
Since I am keeping it for myself, I thought I could take on another project for the nursery, and remembered seeing a nice wall hanging organiser at friend's house when she had her little one. Now, the friend lives in Italy, so I can't go there and measure it, but that is not the problem, I can choose it myself. The sort of things I am thinking of are these:
I think I prefer the three pockets at the bottom, and my idea is to put a nice pattern over the top half of the material and then individual ones on the pockets.
I have been in hobbycraft the other weekend and I can get the material there and all the supplies I need, but I am having trouble finding the patterns. I want some cute bears/teddies, but can't find ones I like.
I like the ones on this quilt kit, but I am not willing to buy it for nearly £55:eek:.

I was also thinking of buying some of the small forever friends or me to you (tatty teddy - but wouldn't mind a bit more colour!) kits and reusing the designs - but are there any designs that would not need to buy the kits, just a book or separate patterns?... If so, where could I do it?...
Sorry for the long post....Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Hi ginvzt
Have you had a look on ebay? You can pick up second hand charts for a pound or two.
Another suggestion for designs - have you heard of 'Little Suzy's Zoo' and 'Newtons Law' charts? They are also very cute for nurseries, and nice and bright.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Thanks, Louise, I haven't heard of the ones you mentioned, but will check them out.
I haven't thought of ebay for used designs - so thank you very much! Will head straight there!
I think the trickiest bit will be making up my mind what to use and sticking to them...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
That's the trouble a lot of us have...and it led to the formation of the cross stitch UFO thread

Ok, I choose one of the bears for the pocket - Tatty teddy Baby Powder:
Of course, without writing. After work I went to Hobbycraft and was already resorting to buying the individual kits for each pocket, but then decided to get individual threads and get designs online...
Just 2 more to choose for the pockets and then a big one for the main part!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Hi Ginvzt.
Just a suggestion that may or may not help but Poundland and Dunelm sell the types of hanging storage you are after so you may not need to make them from scratch.
Could you stitch the small designs you want then sew the aida to the front of the pocket?:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Thanks for that!!!! At least I can go and have a closer look at them - might still end up making it from scratch, but at least I have an option!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
It's my DH Aunt's 80th coming up in a couple of weeks and we were stuck for ideas on what to buy her. DH said she likes butterflies, so I'm going to stitch her this...
