Heres a link to a site showing the kit, its by DMC and called African Heartlands and is number BK663 (in case the link doesnt work!)
I brought it from a small independant craft shop in West Sussex in their sale for the bargin price of £12.99
Thanks for all the replys about the pens, sounds like a great idea, tho with this particular kit id be little concerned as the aida is a marbled "tea" kind of colour.
Time to get on and do abit more i think!
Link is only taking you to homepage for some reason, but if you type in African Heartlands into search box it shows you the kit.0 -
When I used the marker pen, I had it on the fabric for at least 5 months and it washed off in cold water really easily. Definately a good thing to buy. Not tried it on evenweave yet, but think I'd have to buy a finer tipped one for that anyway. Remember on hand dyed fabric to test it on a corner bit first as hand dyed fabric isn't colourfast.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
loulou123 - that is a great challenge and will look great when it's done - and what a bargain price!! :money:
I think the marbled effect evenweave will really set it off, once you get going you won't notice the colour of the fabric.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Afternoon all
Thought I would pop on here and stop flooding the UFO thread
My other Heaven and earth chart has turned up :j
http://www.sewalong.co.uk/productfull.asp?sel1=(HAE)RA29S
She is gorgeous -but "HOW MANY threads"-its another one that has 90 colours -but some numbers require as many as 8 skeins- so even allowing for the threads I have I will still need to buy 122 skeins (not exactly MSE -but I don't drink or smoke :A:p)
its spread over 29 full A4 sides and 12 part sides
the plan is to do her on 28ct even weave over 2 threads -so she will end up 28.5" X 43" :rotfl:-I could turn it into a table cloth
I am on the home run with mums "in her garden" - then I am going to be good and finish the bit left on my celtic lady and THEN I can start the golden earth one :j
Hope everyone is finding time to squeeze a bit of sewing in-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hello All
Just thought I would drop a line or two to you.
Taking a wee break from my cross stitch this morning to sell some old kits I found in the shed that I probably never get round to doing and some I don't particulary like - given as gifts. But I am itching to do some sewing but I can't keep putting things off to get on with it. Rambling again.
Hope all is well with you in your part of the world.
Kind wishes

Morning all
I have received an "invitation only" discount code for 70% off the sale items from wimblebees
http://www.wimblebees.com/
I have just used it to get £62.88 of stuff for just £17.93 :j -including the tiger in profile kit I had my eye on -for just £7.98 -hubby will be doing it -but he doesn't know that yet :rotfl:
On there they have 6" ickle teddies with a pannel to x-stitch -(thinking christening, birthday type gifts) -with the code they come in at £2.85 :T -they also have pink gingham bonnets to x-stitch for £1.84
also blank bi-fold card packs -
I hope the code can be used more than once -the code you enter is 7024 -hope it works -but Im not to blame for any spending
Right -I will post this on the other x-stitch thread ...pinkies crossed its of use-
Lynda -I will probably be about 80 before its done :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Oh god I haven't cross stiched in years! My mum taught me, and then I decided to try doing my own thing (mainly band name logos) but the last two I did took me three months! I was laid up atthe time, but I did love them!
Are there any good tips anyone can give me to get back into this? I actually do miss doing this (and knitting - I'm such a weirdo geek - but I knit backwards to my mum, she taught me and she's left handed)** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Start small and simple
Find a kit you like that is on 14ct aida (easy to work on) and that has plenty of 'blank background'
Maybe start with a couple of cards until you get the bug back?Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Think I worked on 10ct last time, and that was pretty easy to use for me. I did "create" my own deisgns but I just want to do something fun. I'll have a look in the little shop in town to see if they have any kits, if not are there any decent CS mags that have free mini-kits with them? (I could also use them for hints and tips
