Hi All
Will be going on holiday soon and think I have found a project to do
It just uses 3 colours but the majority is only one.
Does anyone know can I take needles and a small cutter on board flights now?
Kind wishes to all

PS Will post update of Floral Alphabet tomorrow:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -

Looks like a great project sweetcareron the recent flights I made, I took one of those DMC thread cutters on that look like a semi-circle with a concealed blade. I don't think you can take scissors or cutters on board otherwise. On the way home though, I promptly dropped my DMC cutter down the side of the plane seat never to be seen again, I really wish I'd put a thread through it and put it round my neck as it did have a loop for this purpose! So if you do get one of these, be careful and don't lose it like I did!!

Hi Everyone
This looks like a great thread and has inspired me to get out my stitching stuff again. I'm waiting for this months 'cross stitch collection' magazine to come out because my subscriber copy of 'cross stitcher' shows a gorgeous santa in the style of the celtic ladies on the cover. I know my hubby would love it though it won't be done for this Christmas!
Sweetcarer - When I went on holiday in the summer I managed without a cutter on the plane and just took pre-cut lengths of thread then trimmed things when I was re-united with my big bag. I had been told that I was only allowed to take 1 needle with me and I ceratinly didn't have any trouble getting it through customs (spares in my big bag in the hold in case I managed to lose the 1).0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I have a small cutter on a pen with a cord to hang round your neck - got it free one time with a cross stitch magazine - the pen since dried out. I will be cutting up pre sorted threads. It is a good pattern as I said it only has 3 threads - you can choose a different colour for the main one - might do it in blue as my living room is blue. I am thinking of taking out the birds and moving the roses more central.
Here is the link to the site that lets you download the pattern and all the details about it.

Hi All
Looks like I will have to put my floral alphabet on hold in a few days as my neice has had her baby and I want to do I stitch for her. :A
She is American and I have decided to do this one and alter it slightly to take the babys name and details.
I have the material and I ordered the threads from the place Louise recommened - accross town stitching. Also ordered the threads for my holiday stitch - 10 skeins of the main colour
Will continue with the floral alphabet until all arrives.
Hope all is well with you in your part of world.

Hi All
Browsing through the internet I found this and thought it may of be use to our wee gang. Make a charted design in cross stitch or in backstitch from your own text.
I am using the Monaco font to help me with the backstitch for the baby stitch I will be doing - once the threads come in from accross town stitching.
Heres the link
http://www.stitchpoint.com/eng/tool/alph/_alphabet_generator.php
It centres text if desired and prints out in graph - really helpful.
Hope all is well in your part of the world
Kind wishes
