I love seeing everyone's work. You are all so patient doing those big kits :T
Poppett
I adore your latest project, its beautiful.
MrsMc.
Those urban kits are great! I love the policeman giving the birdPricey though....or am I just tight? :rotfl:
I have all the time in the world at the moment what with not working but I can't get myself back into stitching.
I promise myself evey night I put my head on the pillow that I'll do some the next day but don't seem to get round to it.
I think some of the trouble is I have at least 2 started kits and a few un-opened kits. I want to get started on a new one but have told myself I must finish one of the started ones first so I just don't bother:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
ooohhh shelly
We could start the "must finish the UFOs" club :rotfl:Im doing the same at the minute.. once I have finished this one off for mum - I have several started ones Im making myself finish before i get to start any nice new ones  ...it doesn't help when others on here keep starting new ones does it-THEY know who they are :rotfl:
Glad you found her sweetcarer :T.... mine doesn't have beads on the pattern Im just going to add my own and some swarovski ones too. I think your looks a more sensible size too -not quite 11"X17" -will be much better for framing....
I looked for the ruby one just now but its vanished:rolleyes:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
NEW KIT! NEW KIT! NEW KIT! :rotfl:
Sorry couldnt resist - I agree lets do a UFO club. I've got two Australian bookmarks - one's a koala, one's a kangaraoo - my Mum gave me them partially done. They're on 16ct, that's too small for her to see. I feel I ought to finish them for her as they were quite exp for two wee daft bookmarks. I guess we've all got our stitching Achilles heels!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
See - I told you THEY knew who THEY were :rotfl:
heck when I think about it I have :-- 1 celtic lady started
- hubbies hawk
- the some bunny to love sampler

Pity about the ruby one - was being sold by same seller - maybe you could contact them about it.
Sizes for mine are on
14 hpi - 9 1/8" x 16 3/4"
16 hpi - 8" x 14 3/4"
18 hpi - 7 1/8" x 13"
20 hpi - 6 3/8" x 11 3/4"
stiches - 129w x 236h
Some on another cross stitch forum sent me it too but I needed a cross stitch program to open it (found a download on internet) for it and it gives a choice of eye colour - green, blue or brown.
Found someone on ebay selling 75 dmc threads for £20 approx (inc p&p) is this a good deal - or is there better? Also what HPI is better - thinking of 14hpi as it will be easier on the eyes, as there is so many colour changes and threading up all the needles before hand with the different colours. (Use an old aida band and cardboard to be thread holder).
Well better get back to work - then home later for some more cross stitching.
kind wishes to all

ooohhh noooo Im not going to ask about the red one -I have far to many lined up already
-if I decide to do another 1 I will swap the colours myself and use the same chart
75 dmc threads for £20 seems very cheap ..are they full 8m skeins? Johnsons crafts have them on offer at 45p each at the moment and I thought that was good..:D
Im going to do mine on 28count even weave -so it will still come out at 17"X29" ..I find even weave, linen etc better to work on than aida..
Just watch if you thread loads of needles up that you don't drop the card as they get lovely and tangled ...guess how I learnt that.. I have one of thos thread holders shaper like a toblarone -but find it quicker to use one needle and keep re-threading
-I have always been odd

Hi all! Sorry I've not been about much for the last couple of weeks. I went to Gloucester to see my family & friends, then came back, had one day to pack up the motorbike, then off in the other direction for a mini holiday in Norfolk. Had a great holiday there, although after riding for 130 miles today, I feel quite sore and achy. Once my wrist has recovered from 'throttle ache', I might even get some stitching done.
Think a UFO club is a good idea. Count me in!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Hi all,
Like Ruth_honey, I haven't been around for a while, but my excuse is exams. I have read through the last five or so pages tonight to catch up with what the rest of you have been up to.
Since the exams finished last week, I've been stitching like mad to get my littlest niece's 1st birthday card done. Her favourite toy is a blue/grey fluffy hippo so when I saw this cover kit from World of Cross Stitching, I had to do it.

I finished this next piece before exams set in, but didn't get round to posting it. It was the first stitching I started when I got back into it. Its from Cross Stitch Gold.

And finally this is my current WIP - from the same issue of Cross Stitch Gold as the Xmas card. It's on evenweave which I am finding that I prefer to Aida.

On the UFO front, I have one piece - it's a zebra's head out of a Jayne Netley Mayhew animal book. The problem is that it has bad vibes for me as it was the piece that I used to work on while I was sitting with my Grandma. Watching someone you love becoming a feeble stranger who doesn't know you is not something I really want to remember, even though she has been gone for 7 years. I've decided that I ought to get it finished and then I can give it and the book away, but its actually getting it out and working on it that's the problem, especially when I have a mental list of projects that I want to do which is a mile long!
To finish on a brighter note, the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady card that I did last month for my step-aunt was a great success. It turns out that poppies and daisies are her favourite flowers and she has framed it.

Well, you all seem to be working away at some cracking projects, so I'll wish you all many hours of happy stitching.
Cheers,

Hmm I'm in on the UFO club, just trying to find time to more than work eat and sleep, though going to take some of the UFOs with me when I go away with work.
but here goes.
1. A huge x - stitch double quilt (which I have lost the guide to)
2. A lavender bag
3. A floral embroidered tablecloth
and 3/4 unstarted projects including 3-4 more lavendar bags and a couple of bigish pictures.
I have a lovely floral panel i picked up in a charity shop and really want to do something like it as it is stunning just got to work out how to transfer a picture to embroider onto black fabric0
