Your work is stunning! The framing is excellent too-did you frame then yourself, or are they done 'professionally'? I'm just uploading some pics of my UFO's and will post them in the UFO soon.

There's a nice Polish man just opened up a framing shop down the road, so I got him to do them. Think it cost £25 each, which I was pleased about as they are so large.

That's a great price. They look really good. Does he lace them too, or just stick them onto mount board?

Just posted on the UFO board with a link to my pics if anyone wants to laugh at me. I have sooo many UFOs. I blame the face that I'm a Gemini.

Is it easy to frame your work yourself? Would I just stack the layers up like glass, the outer edge card, my work then the back of the frame? How do you keep the material flat? Can I iron it once finished?

I ask because I have nearly finished a Country Companions kit and would like to give it to my cousins new baby for xmas to go in her room.
To keep costs down I would like to try framing it myself but not if there's a chance I could mess it up.

    Thanks

    Hi Shelly

Framing is a doddle - I do my own and mums :D
If you put your frame face down -mine goes ;-
glass, mount, sewing, wadding (1oz), back board ...the wadding makes quite a difference -especially if you are using AIDA as it makes the holes less visible;)
I wash mine in warm water with a little shampoo in, then in clean water (just swishi it about), then I lie them on a clean towel and roll up and wedge down the back of a radiator to dry (it doesn't have to be on).. then I press them -face down and you are ready to go :T
right Im off to look at folks UFOs :rotfl:

Cannot believe I have only just found this thread. May I join in as a fellow X-Stitch addict? :D

Here are a couple of my completed projects over the last wee while:

    March2008001.jpg

    August2008020-1.jpg

    Apr2008034.jpg

    Apr2008035.jpg

I am also terrible for unfinished projects :o

Ones that I can think of are:

    Giant map of Europe
Afghan rug I started for my daughter (she is nearly 2 now):o
Angel that my mum asked me to do - but it's sooo fiddly
Flock of flamingoes (I go cross eyed with that one!!):rotfl:

    Vctorian winter skating scene
    Apr2008016-1.jpg

This thread has encouraged me to look out all the undone stuff - think I will take pics of their stages to embarrass myself into attempting to carry on with them LOL:rotfl:

(Is there a seperate thread for unfinished stuff or is it just here?):j:beer:

    :hello:Hi Louise,

I absolutely love the mermaids, ballerinas, and especially the victorian x-mas scene (I am one true x-mas maniac, and a victorian 'freak' :-) ). I am sure I've seen this x-mas scene somewhere else before but I can't remember. But I would like to ask - if that's ok with you - did you use coded chart for these? I would love to do these projects myself but as a 'not very experienced' :-) cross-sticher :-) I always follow a chart and step by step instructions. Thank you. xxx
Great work!!! :T:T:T Thank you very much for sharing. xxx
