    Hi All

Just wondering if I can join the UFO club too but with a bit of a difference as my UFO has been going since I was 13! and its still not finished.

Its a tiger cub surrounded by bamboo - god help me i will post a picture soon.

I want it finished for my mums birthday in November but never seem to get time to pick it up!

Also have 4/5 christmas cards I want to cross stitch as well - I have the pattern (thanks MrsM) so just need aida and threads now.

Plus have been looking at a cross stitched table cloth and making some matching coasters for my nans Xmas present because she loved her card and bookmark set.
    Time to find me again

    Hi all,

I haven't been here for a long time, what beautiful designs you're all making. I'm taking a break from new projects as lots to catch up on so I'd like to join the UFO club too, if you'll have me.

I find that it's easier to have a specified day to do it, so for years I used to do it on a Tuesday and mainly worked on the finishing stages of Christmas ornaments.

For the last six months it's been on a Sunday when I visit a relative. For years I used to bring my crochet but now I've stopped doing it, I bring my stitching UFO's and it's successful because I've been working on the very old and dreaded projects and managed to finish two traycloths and working on the last one. So current list -

    1. thick linen traycloth - nearly finished - need to do lots of french knots
    2. linen Victorian sampler - nearly finished
    3. linen tablecloth - unstarted
    5. finished cross stitched flower - do something with it

Well I think I have got my stitching mojo back!
Had to get up earlier than usual this morning to take hubby to work and instead of putting pc on as soon as I got back I decided to do some stitching and listen to trashy daytime tv whilst doing so :rotfl:

I have really enjoyed it even though its been quite fiddly. I am doing the back of a hedgehog and its what they call tweeding (a strand of 1 colour with a strand of another) and the stitches are a bit all over the place.
I need hubby to dig my adjustable table out form under the stairs though as I have been kind of sitting side on on the sofa and its made my back ache terrible.

Just thought I'd let you all know I'm back into it while e-mailing hubby during a stitching break :D

Shall we get this started up, then? Choose a day in the week where you can work on whichever UFO you choose and then upload a photo once a week to show everyone what you done.
I am going to get on my Crisp Afternoon for my mum. It was supposed to be her 50th birthday present-over 2 years ago! It's a huge design, but I've done the majority of it.
Do you think we should have a new thread for the UFO club or just keep it within this one?
Glad you're all here to keep me motivated with this. I want to finish it and get on with some things for me! :T

    Hi all,

I've started work on one of my mainy UFO's - it's an all our yesterdays Punch and Judy. I've only got the half stitch and back stitch to do. I aim to get it finished at the weekend, so I can get it framed.

I'll update you on the progress.

  • Ebay is the root of all evil! All I wanted was one particular issue of World of Cross Stitching because the publisher had no back issues left. Next thing I know I'm bidding on 8 issues of various cross stitch magazines! Someone please save me - I can see myself doing this on a regular basis if I'm not careful.

    Cheers to all,
    Ro

    Hi all,

I'm doing my UFO's every Sunday but won't be able to upload photos as don't have a camera at the moment but have some old ones while they were still WIP's.

If you have another thread especially for the UFO's probably you will get more people interested, those who only occasionally visit this thread and might miss the talk about the idea..

Mountain Ash, LOL about your mags. I get like that when I see them in charity shops, impossible to just walk out with one.

I totally know what you mean but my downfall is kits, not mags :D

I go on ebay 'just to see what's on offer' and it takes all my will power not to buy anything.
I have so many kits ready to go that I really can't buy any more........yet :D

Oh how I agree! - I love/hate ebay in equal measure! I cant resist having a wee browse, but it never stops there. Yesterday I got 2 kits and 2 charts, but they WERE bargains and therefore it would have been against the law not to buy them :D
