Ok folks - I need your opinions! Do any of you use daylight lamps when you're stitching? I got some money for my birthday and Im toying wth buying one but Im not sure if its a worthwhile investment. Id be grateful for any thoughts/recommendations. It would need to be one that sits on a table as Ive no room for a floor standing but Im open to any ideas! I bought a tiny one that clips onto a frame but its not that great!

I use one, but it's just a normal floor standing lamp with a daylight bulb in. Why not hunt around for the type of lamp that you want, then just pop a daylight bulb into it? Much cheaper than buying a daylight lamp. Then with the rest of your spare birthday money, you can buy some more stash! :TCross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I don't bother - any colours that need sorted I do during the day, then they are all labelled if I am stitching in the evening so I don't have to worry about the colours.
The prvious poster made a good sugestion about justgetting a daylight bulb x:DCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I think I'll follow your suggestions. Just back from Hobbycarft and the cheapest is about £70!!! Thats crazy money!
Its not for sorting colours so much, its just that I need a decent light to see what Im doing in the evening.

Cannot believe I have only just found this thread. May I join in as a fellow X-Stitch addict?
Here are a couple of my completed projects over the last wee while:
I am also terrible for unfinished projects
Ones that I can think of are:
Giant map of Europe
Afghan rug I started for my daughter (she is nearly 2 now):o
Angel that my mum asked me to do - but it's sooo fiddly
Flock of flamingoes (I go cross eyed with that one!!):rotfl:
Vctorian winter skating scene
This thread has encouraged me to look out all the undone stuff - think I will take pics of their stages to embarrass myself into attempting to carry on with them LOL:rotfl:
(Is there a seperate thread for unfinished stuff or is it just here?):j:beer:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Your work is stunning! The framing is excellent too-did you frame then yourself, or are they done 'professionally'? I'm just uploading some pics of my UFO's and will post them in the UFO soon.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
