people have never comented on the fact i love to stitch at 24 but that maybe because my mum is very crafty and it was probably assumed that i would be the same lol

People laugh at me too saying I am old before my time but I find stitching relaxing and love creating something on a blank piece of fabric. I make cards too and have just had 3 of mine appear on the letters page of this month's Cross Stitch Crazy magazine (if you have it mine are the easter cards!). Very exciting to see my stuff in a magazine :D

I have lost my stitching mojo at the moment and haven't stitched anything for weeks. Need to get it back as have several projects to do for a new baby and a birthday and a couple of other bits. We are going on holiday next week so i am going to take a new project with me to get started and hopefully find my mojo in Dorset ;)

Fab work everyone, lyndasharp and MrsM, I don't know how you have the patience for those huge pieces but they are stunning :A
Well done Rainmac! How brilliant to be in the mag!
I know, sometimes you can not be in the mood for sewing, sometimes you need a good pattern to get the old adrenalin going!!

    Hi Jinty

Not tried it myself but my friend swears by baby wipes. Would try in the corner on the back first to make sure it doesn't cause any damage on its own. Failing that if you have used anchor or DMC threads it should be ok to put in the washing machine on a very gentle cycle.

Hope someone else can offer other suggestions if that doesn't work

A little bit of washing up liquid on a cloth should do the trick :)

    Hi there jintyb

If its on the fabric....not where you have sewn then if it dries you can sew over the top ;)..if its on your work -or where the fabric is going tobe insitched I would give it a quick wash by hand and it should come out...pinkies crossed.....nothing worse than ruining all that hard work

Thanks to you all for taking time to reply - I've washed it in cold water with mild shampoo, rinsed it thoroughly with clean water with a spot of white vinegar - saw that tip on a x stitching site. Its a little better but not much! Im going to let it dry & follow Mrs M's advice. Its a quite densely stitched piece, with no spaces and its on cream Aida. Once its done I'll wash it again and see what shows : this is it -https://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi

Im dead annoyed cos Im right in the mood for a sew - might start something new in the meantime!;)
