Anyone Into Cross Stitching?

This is the biggest one I've had framed so far. She was done a few years ago now, by someone who was quite pricy but totally brilliant. That cost about £75, but worth every penny!
I've had one framed elsewhere since, and although everyone else said they did just as good a job, I can see that they didn't - the stitching isn't quite straight! Maybe I'm just picky...
MrsM, that sew and so kit is amazing! Must finish off some of my part completed ones before I start considering anything else...Live on £11k in 20110 -

Lynda I'm loving the fire screen!! :T
I'd love to do one for our house as we have an open fire that hubby doesn't want to block up but I know from experience I get bored doing fairly small projects so doing a big one is out of the question for me:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. Oh and a request please ladies.....
Can you all please stop putting links to kits in your posts?
I have to click on them to take a peek then end up wanting to buy them!!
Would be ok if I didn't have lots of unopened kits already

Hi All
Seen the Celtic ladies Mrsmcawber - they are truly are beautiful. I am still searching for your red/orange head girl with the beads. I would love to do that - it would be perfect. In my living room I have various pictures of red heads - being a red head myself. I have started the wedding sampler from cross stitcher 72 - thanks all for the help in finding it. Need to use a dark cloth under it. White evenware with white threads and beads. Should be fun! I am glad I have rekindled my love of cross stitch.

Lyndasharp, your firescreen is lovely, well done.
I have spent quite a few hours today on my "New Arrival" and the baby's face is just appearing. As it's sepia it kind of reminds me of my granddaughters 4d scan, so is spurring me on even more now. I have done most of what I can and I'm now waiting for the craft shop near me to get in 3 of the main colours I need. (Might be quicker if I order off the net, as they only have one delivery a month in the shop) Might post work in progress pics soon.£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -
Lynda, meant to ask you earlier what type of material the fire screen and the lady in post #662 is stitched onto?
Is it the normal material you get with a kit? (sorry don't even know what that's called)
Looking at the pics you posted it looks to me like a cotton sheet but I'm sure that's just how it has photographed:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Morning all
Shelly -that fabric Lynda has used looks like its Linen...its slightly uneven in its thread -so you get some thicker and some thinner strands in the weave.
Well I have just popped the hoop off my work inprogress as Im moving up the pattern :j -so I got a quick pic..its not a great one (you can click on it to enlarge).... but -you can see what Im up against with the solid stitch :rotfl:....right -back to my sewing
Hope everyone is cracking on with theirs :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
