Just to let you know I found out what magazine it is - it is a cross stitcher one (not cross stitch collection) issue number 72 from august 1998.

Thanks everyone who helped - I have put a bid on ebay for a copy and hopefully will win it.

I am itching to start stitching again now.

Glad you found it :T. It was one of the ones I was missing & although I checked the later months for back issues, the picture of the sampler isn't on the front cover, so I wouldn't have known. Make a note of the issue because if you don't win it on Ebay, there's always charity shops, or the cross stitching forums where you'll probably find it again. Make sure you show us a pic when it's done.

    Hi Maria,

There is some 14 count aida on Ebay for sale, and if you do a search on yahoo, there are lots of websites which sell it.

I picked up some aida and threads at a car boot sale yesterday, so might be worth looking at those if you have any locally

    Hi all,

I'm loving this thread and the pictures of everyone's work. It's a great motivation for me to carry on with The Holiday Train.

I've ordered my next project - http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&do=search_results&Prod_Code=10665&ww=1 This will be my first attempt at stitching on a coloured aida.

Once it's finished and framed, it will be hung behind our tropical fish tank!
