Do you have to use the linked current account to make deposits into KE savings account or is it possible to make a BACS payment via a different account? (i.e from Egg Savings)
Also, how long does it take to get the account up and running? I applied on the 4th but have not yet received an email with account details.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

If you look at the T+Cs there is no mention of allowing funding from other accounts, and it specifically says you can only have one linked account set-up at any one time. So that must be used for funding and withdrawals.
Set-up is two working days providing they have verified who you are...0 -

Thanks! I've read that many different T&C's for various accounts over the last few days I'd forgotten which rules applied to which account
I was just hoping I might have been able to benefit from a few days interest in ES whilst waiting for the account to get up and running then transfer it to KE directly from there as it's not earning anything at all sat in my current acc at mo!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Just download the R85 form from the HMRC website - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Diol1/DoItOnline/DG_4017954
and additionally you should be able to claim back taxed interest too, so it shouldn't cost you anything in interest - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/tdsi/claim-tax-back.htm
Great, thanks for that. I didn't know you could claim the tax back.0 -

You PUSH the money from your linked account :-
Paying in by BACS
To pay into your Kaupthing Edge savings account xxxxxxxx using the BACS transfer system. The transfer from your linked account to your savings account will take 3 to 4 business days.
The Kaupthing Edge Sort Code for making a BACS transfer to your account is 62-30-86.0 -

That's very helpful, thankyou! :A
Just waiting for them to send my account number now so I can do the transfer“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Why do they insist from the linked account though? If by BACS, surely from anywhere would do. I could understand if it was a DD pull-in.0

I imagine it's to prevent fraud and money laundering.0 -
Thinking about setting up a savings account with them. Just rang them, got through in 3 rings, spoke to a very nice and helpful lady who answered all my stupid questions and finished by wishing me a good weekend!
Lets hope it continues once I'm a customer and they have been around a while!!!0 -

I've always had exactly that sort of service from both Lloyds and Egg whenever I've called them, which has been quite frequently recently.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
