Just an update, received the letter in the post this morning, but no e-mail. Rang, no waiting, call answered almost immediately, said e-mail will be resent, and should be with us by Wednesday, fingers crossed.
Although minor problems in delay in opening (lack of e-mail etc), very impressed with politeness of staff and quick answering of calls!
Received the email this afternoon as they promised and just sent a small amount into the account from my linked accoutn via BACS to test it works...0 -
I opened one a few weeks ago.
It was all very simple.
the website is clean and uncluttered.
My only gripe is that Kaupthing aren't supported by Egg Money Manager which I use for all my other accounts.
It means I have to have a page of logon details in front of me to access my account, other than that I have no issues with it.
I have an account with them and find it easy to use although I don't like the way items are listed. I take monthly interest and I can't always see quickly which line the wording refers to. Just a minor niggle really. With other banks I have always transferred money to the linked account on Sunday evenings but, with Kaupthing, they don't do the transfer until Tuesday. I had a go at them and they pointed out that they continue to pay interest for the Monday
even though the amount has left your account.
They deposited nearly £300 in my account after a few weeks and I couldn't recognise what it was. Noticed last night they have taken it back. I wonder if I got interest on that too?0 -
I went for the three year fixed option and according to them I will receive the interest on maturity. I assume by that it is not going to be paid annually. However not a problem.0

you are correct - interest will be paid at end of the 3 year termKeep the Faith:cool:0
