Kaupthing Edge

Kaupthing Edge have a 'clean' 6.5% Savings Account that Martin recommends so I am tempted but does anyone have any experience of dealing with this company? Any hiccups in application process, customer services, etc. All feedback welcome.

I opened one a few weeks ago.

    It was all very simple.

the website is clean and uncluttered.

My only gripe is that Kaupthing aren't supported by Egg Money Manager which I use for all my other accounts.

It means I have to have a page of logon details in front of me to access my account, other than that I have no issues with it.

I've been with Kaupthingy almost since launch on 2 February 2008.

Whole application process was completed online in 7 days from beginning to end. (ID is checked electronically provided that you're on the electoral roll.)

It's still early days of course, but customer service has been good so far.

I needed to ring them today. I got through to someone after just two rings, I wasn't put on hold and I didn't have to key in any extension numbers....and the problem was sorted in a few minutes, it was quite refreshing!

    HI,
I join my voice to the others. No problems so far, had to call them only once during application and it's been relatively painless. But as Moggles said, it's early days.

No problems either easier to deal with than some ,well most, other english banks and b/s They don't pay your monthly interest though into your linked bank acct automatically, you have to do it yourself it then takes 3 days to appear in your bank acct, that is if you want it of course.
  • I've just opened a IOM account and apart from reams of proofs of address overseas, not bad so far . Emails answered quickly etc.
