That's a tricky one. The chances are that once she experienced online banking, she'd wonder how she ever got through life without it, but it's not for everyone.
Personally, I wouldn't want to run any internet savings account without online banking.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
I'm thinking of opening KE's ISA when I have £1000 ready to go. Does anyone know if you can d/load the balance/statements in MS Money or Quicken format? I use MS Money to keep track of things, and d/loading entries sure beats typing them in.Student Loan Company Ltd: 17,805 (2.8%) Overdraft: 500 (Interest free)

Oh yeah, just checked my notes, and it's not an ISA, just a savings account! Not sure where I got my wires crossed on that one. Do need a new ISA for this year though, my Halifax one is a poor rate of interest.Student Loan Company Ltd: 17,805 (2.8%) Overdraft: 500 (Interest free)

Just wondering, do you lose your months interest if you make a withdrawl from your Kaupthing savings account?0

Kaupthing IOM are marvellous - a/c opened and internet stuff all works. I wanted to change account type to receive monthly interest - no problem.
And better the site supports foreign transfers by either BACS or CHAPS without having to go and mess about at the bank and no wasted fees.
So far everything has been spot on - as good as Allied Irish Bank.0 -
Just to contrast with most of the positive comments on here I felt I had to post my experience so far with KE:
Whilst I also found opening my account and transferring money no problem since I am tax exempt I have tried, unsuccessfully after nearly 2 months of trying to stop the tax being taken from my interest.
I am still waiting for the second Inland Revenue form Kaupthing said they would send out after they had no record of the first one I sent. This was after a telephone conversation where I had to repeat my problem no less than 4 times before the person on the other end understood my issue.
So far this has cost me around £80 in interest. :mad:0 -

Just download the R85 form from the HMRC website - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Diol1/DoItOnline/DG_4017954
and additionally you should be able to claim back taxed interest too, so it shouldn't cost you anything in interest - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/tdsi/claim-tax-back.htm
