Ordinarily no. However Cashplus have set up a loan. The way it works is you get the Prepay card on a monthly fee basis. You are then lent the money to pay 1 years fees. You pay the loan back over the year and the loan and payments are recorded on you credit report.

Thats if they are still doing it.

Hi there! I'm just about to try to get my financial act together and looked at prepaid cards. The one from cashplus looks pretty good, gives you full credit card protection for purchases and I've just been on the site and they're showing the creditbuilder loan as still being available, so it would make a start for me in rebuilding my absolutely appalling credit file. Only thing bothering me is this - I've just changed my bank account (opened a safety net which will now be my main account) as my original account has an overdraft which I'm not in a position to repay (unless I get my charges back). Anyhow, my bank account was with RBS and I see from the cashplus site that the money is held in trust by RBS....... my account with them was in my married name and I have since reverted to my maiden name although I didn't change it on the bank account. Do you think it would be safe for me to get this card, I'm worried that RBS will connect the dots ....... ? Thanks everyone, this is a great site and I'm eternally grateful for all the conversation and advice here as it has made me pull my head out of the sand!

Hello guy's, how are you all doing?
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
  • Hi everyone,

Can any of you really helpful guys or gals please tell me if you know, how much 1 late payment (recent) will affect my credit rating. I am a bit cross about it really but I made a payment to Marshall Ward for the first time, by cash at the post office and my payment did not show up on the account. Being the complete Dumbo that I am I did not keep my receipt so can't dispute the non receipt of the payment. So I now have 1 late payment logged on my credit file....any ideas how much that will hinder me for any future credit applications?

Pleased to say I am now up and running with my Vanquis CC (£500 limit) and Aqua CC (£1000) limit so won't need to apply for anything else just yet!
