Is your equifax file clear then? I took the following off their website:
Who is eligible to apply for a Flybe Card?
UK (including Isle of Man and Channel Islands) residents aged 18 years and over and over with a UK (including Isle of Man and Channel Islands) bank or building society account. You will need to provide a landline telephone number for home or work and have a regular source of income through full-time or part-time employment of more than 16 hours per week (this can be you or your partner), or be a student, retired or on incapacity benefit. Finally, you need to have a clean credit history, ie, no arrears, defaults, County Court Judgments (CCJs), bankruptcies or Individual Voluntary Agreements (IVAs). You will also need to provide an active email address in order for you to register with the Rewards4all programme.
It doesn't sound like a subprime card.
Pleased to hear about British Gas, although they shouldn't have put them on in the first place
I have a default on my experian report from 2003 but it is not showing on my call credit or equifax report. Someone posted on my thread before stating that I should try one of the sygma cards (flybe, jjb, allsaints) as they search equifax only.HSBC loan - [STRIKE]£12500[/STRIKE]£11200 HSBC CC - [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £2300Egg CC - [STRIKE]£2700[/STRIKE]£3100 Capital 1 CC - [STRIKE]£1000[/STRIKE] £800Vanquis CC - [STRIKE]£250[/STRIKE] £0 Citi Loan - £11000Barclays Loan - [STRIKE]£7000[/STRIKE] £5000Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -

if they come true i will be so so happy and will start on removing my ccj altho i cant see that being removed no matter how hard i try
FANTASTIC NEWS Darcy!
I had 5 defaults removed by a combination of begging, pestering and offering payment on condition of removal.
That really is a fantastic acheivement because getting defaults removed is very very hard indeed, the CCJ will be next to impossible unless you have valid reasons for not defending the claim and I suspect they would not class the loss of your partner as a valid reason
I did have a CCJ removed but that was because I live in Scotland and it should have never gone through the English court system in the first place.
Do you have any more defaults or is it just the CCJ remaining?0 -
Hi TheAnalyst, Im really interested in how you managed to get your defaults removed, I know you gave a broad view but would appreciate more detail as I have 3 and they still have 5 years to run

I was in Town today, and went into Barclays to pay some money into my current account, and I'm stood there quietly filling out my paying in slip when this young guy who works there comes up to me and starts waffling on about how he could see what they could do with my account. I gave him my card so he could bring up the details on computer, and then he looks at me and says "Oh no, there's nothing we can do".
B****y H, the cheeky little s**t. I didn't ask him to start rooting around my account, and I left there feeling like utter carp. I wouldn't mind, but all of my wages is still in there plus my money transfer from MBNA so there is a fair bit amount of money in there. It must of flashed up "bad credit"!!!!!!
I don't like Barclays any more. I never chose to bank with them, my account got transferred with the Woolwich. Grrrr!!!!!!!!!
We got into a bit of debt (one default, loads of arrears) about 9 years ago due to my ill health.
We've since cleared every single one of them over 4 years ago).
We've had a basic account with Lloyds for around 8 years, the very first month, one direct debit wasn't paid due to insufficient funds.
The next 7years plus we have always had enough money in our account to cover every bill (have around 10 DD's coming out each month) (my incapacity and my wifes tax credits get paid into it)
We took out a secured loan 4 years ago and never missed a payment, this was then changed into a mortgage 1.8 years ago that again we've never missed a payment on.
My wife has a Gt Universal account with something like a 5K credit limit, never been late with any payment.
My wife had a Capital one card with a 2K limit on it, a Littlewoods card with a 4.5K limit on it (which she asked them to reduce to 2k) and has never ever missed or been late with the payments.
My wife has been a self employed mobile hairdresser with a business account at Lloyds for 3 years, again ran the account perfectly.
So around 2.5 years ago, we get a phone call from Lloyds saying they want to upgrade our account and could we come in and see them. So my wife took time out of her job and we went down there to see them. The Lady was most apologetic, said the person must have phoned us in error as the computer wont let her upgrade our account.
Then my wife was in Lloyds bank at the beginning of the year and when she paid in some money, they said that the computer had come up with an option to upgrade our account and could we both go in to see them. So yet again my wife took time out from her job, we both went in there and yet again they were most apologetic but the computer said No.
I told them I wasn't happy.
Meanwhile, they've upgraded our account to a debit card. trouble is our old cashpoint worked in any cashpoint, the debit card only works in Lloyds ones (not a real prob, but seems like one step forwards and one step backwards)
Last Friday my wife was paying money into Lloyds, guess what they said. My wife pointed out to the cashier about our two previous experiences, she delved further and said that it's odd, one screen is saying we can be upgraded, but when she tries, she cant actually do it.
A few months ago I did the free 30 days with experian thing. Showing all payments up to date, no late payments etc. So I decided to try and get some better rate cards and do a balance transfer.
Did online applications. All of them refused. Against the advice of this site, I got annoyed and did about 25 applications to every card I could find.
Refusal after refusal.
Aqua turned her down, Vanquis said they had to refer it etc etc etc.
Oddly Barclycard and Sky card (two of the last ones I tried) accepted her.
A few weeks later we had a Barclaycard with a £1380 limit (odd amount),
a Sky card with a £1000 limit and a Vanquis card with a £250 limit (that we don't want and are going to close)
We were also inundated with letters and phone calls from loan companies saying our info had been passed onto them and saying such crap as if we send then £50 they can get us a £2000 loan.
It's all confusing to me.Martin Lewis is always giving us advice on how to force companies to do things.
How about giving us advice on how to remove ourselves from any part of MoneySupermarket.com
I hereby withdraw any permission Martin might have implied he gave MoneySupermarket.com to use any of my data. Further more, I do not wish ANY data about me, or any of my posts etc to be held on any computer system held by MoneySupermarket.com or any business it has any commercial interests in.0 -

Glad to help...
RBOS Default
This was fairly straight forward, they settled my £2400odd charges claim and as my default was mainly for charges and interest I demanded that they removed my account from CRA files completely which they did.
Carphone Warehouse Default
I simply wrote to the Carphone Warehouse through the Equifax online dispute system offering them full payment (£260) on the grounds that the (default marker be removed from my CRA files, they obliged but left late payment marks there instead but thats still better than the defaut marker.
Welcome Finance Default
I still owed Welcome £3400ish on a dodgy high interest loan I had been paying for 3 years (only borrowed £2500 initially!!) and they had defaulted me and were chasing me for about a year. I called the Lewis Group (their DCA) and offered them £1200 as a one-time payment on the condition the entire account be removed from my CRA files, I also stated that this is about the only time I'll have any amount of free cash available and if they did not accept then they will be chasing me for a long time to come, they agreed, I got it in writing and then paid them. Default vanished from all 3 CRA files the following month.
Viking Direct CCJ
Viking put a CCJ on in 2004 for £400 (even though i live in Scotland and CCJ's are only for English apparently) I paid the £400 to Viking in 2007 and begged them to remove the CCJ and was basically told to beat it...
I emailed MCOL asking them why a CCJ has been applied when I am resident in Scotland, as far as I was aware CCJ's were for English prople only.
Never heard a peep so called Northampton County Court in March 08 to chase and see if I could get any further, I spoke to a very helpful woman who advised she would call me back. When she called back she advised that a judge had looked at it it and agreed to set-aside on the grounds that the CCJ should never have been applied in the first place.
4 weeks later after a couple more calls to the court and them calling registry trust on my behalf it vanished from my credit files.
Littlewoods Default
As above, I CCA'd them last year, no CCA so replied stating not pursuing the £260. I sent umpteen letters stating that with no CCA then no default which all met blunt replies.
I had been tied up with other default's so forgot about them until about Feburary when I sent them a grovel letter stating my case and that I'm struggling to get a mortgage because of the default and that at no point did I ask them to stop chasing me for it because if they removed the default I'd be happy to pay the outstanding balance. Also at the end I mentioned that I'm a current Littlewoods customer (gave them account number) with perfect history and £1500 limit and there's only 18 months left on the default, would they consider as a gesture of goodwill removing it on payment.
Months pass, no reply, forgotten about it again then about 3 months later it vanished from my CRA files?
I actually think I was very very lucky to be honest, no more Defaults or CCJ on my file.
Hope that is of some help to you.0 -
well done kiora on getting your new CC0
