morning peeps:hello: , another gorgeous day. A flobberlobalob day me thinks: heat/light induced cracker of a migraine yesterday so takin it easy now. A bit of menu tweaking for the week ahead. Going to start making up our own muesli (for Mr bb not me) and see it it works out cheaper and healthier.
10past6 - I started making that carrot cake you listed a few weeks ago and we've really got into it as a 'cake substitute'. You may have difficulty getting the 'scanbran' though if you are not a member of sw. Some health shops sell it, so it is not that cheap. I might see if it is possible just to substitute bran in the recipe as it is mainly that anyway, pressed nto a ryvita shape.
Thanks Sue for the 'can't fall asleep' relaxation stuff - definitely worth posting. I agree about the getting over tired thing too - that's often my problem I think.
Missgy - a mystery to solve. Hope you get to the bottom of it, and knowing you, you know whether this is muscle weight or not so I shaln't even suggest it, oh chart/stats queen (never a 'bow down I am not worthy' smilie when you need one eh:D ) What plans for your birthday (on wednesday folks and pet resident poet:D )
Sorry you didn't get much for your car raph but here's to further financial freedom and some great cycling
. When I was still cycling, I took my bike down to the ferry and across to torpoint and went cycling round cawsands/ mount edgecomb. Plenty of hills but really beautiful. Possibly the cremyll (sp?) ferry too. I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hope you have a nice easy day BB
Weather is totally gorgeous, you'd never believe it was just a few weeks since we woke up to all that snow!
I am having an easy day here too, been sorting out money stuff this morning and got a letter of complaint to post, so I'll use that as an excuse for a nice walk to the furthest postbox after lunch.
No plans for my birthday really, it's usually quite low-key! I do have some lovely snackie treats hidden away for when I have enough of a weight buffer to eat them :rotfl: which I was hoping might coincide with my birthday but it won't now - and having just forked out £126 on summer clothes I don't really want to spend money on 'going out'
I might do something cheap and cheerful, we'll see, but if the sun's shining like it is today I don't need anything else to make me happy

Ah, I was going to post about "Scanbran" and ask what it was, and where I could get it, I only have a Morrison's & Sainsbury close to me, although there is an Aldi, but I doubt they would have it.
Also, can someone advice me please what appliance I need to make breadcrumbs?

I've bought them in a health shop but it isn't a huge chain so can'yrecommend, but it is an sw product. Substitute with 50g wheatbran I should think. Never made breadcrumbs so can't help (other than a grater?). You asked yesterday about useful appliances - do you mean electrical ones, or basic pots and pan? I can recommend a decent sharp knife as a big help and chopping board. Eelctronic kitchen scales, measuring jug, a 'small' lge plate for meals rather than a huge one. I do use a low fat grilling machine alot, but if money is tight, I wouldn't class it as essential. Have you heard of freecycle: peple in your local area might be getting rid of such things for free. I got a slow cooker through that and it is invaluable - makes delicious cheap casserole and enough to freeze 2 meals for later.Hello BB

Hi everyone
Trust you are all making the most of this fine weather.
BB
Yes, I have knives, pots & pans, but there does seems a lot of electrical appliances on the market, (who's idea was it to confuse us?) which I have no idea about, just wondering which one would be best (at the cheapest price)Brighton_belle wrote: »You asked yesterday about useful appliances - do you mean electrical ones
Re the carrot cake, it looked simple to make i never gave it a thought about the scanbran.
And BB, I have a Pink pair of trousers, which I have no problem wearing when I can get into them
May I also ask please, is it better to buy fresh, dried or frozen herbs & spices?

10past6 to be honest the best herbs to use are fresh ones but they don't always work out to be the most economical. I have a vast range of dried spices that have been accumulated little by little as they turn up in a recipe.Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0
