Hi Folks
Trust you have all had a good day so far, and the weight is reducing.
Just an update, last Friday when I got on my scales my weight was something lik14.xxxxx, to be honest, I noticed the 14. and that was enough.
Yesterday just before my shower I weighed myself and my weight was 13.10 I was sure that was not right, so I weighed myself when I got out the shower and it was 13.12 I couldn’t believe I’d lost weight, just out of curiosity I weighed myself today, and I am 13.12, I’m so proud, mind you I do burn 1000 calories a day on my treadmill, but from the look of things, I’m starting to make a little dent somewhere :jClick here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

Hey 10past6, welcome to the forum! Congratulations on your loss, youve beaten my PB already
Pet: Dont say that! My friend dave said about doing his masters and i was like ohhhhh, it really is tempting!! I just dont think i have anything left in the tank phyiscally and mentally. These 8 months have been soooo hard. Erase that, these last 3 years! Plus, id have to chuck out my dissertation in order to start in september and then its another year, and then i'll be coming up for 23! Scary thought, lets move on!
Thanks BB for the help today. Ended up in Battle (well boring!!!!!) so we drove to hastings. I have PMT so i had another paddy. I feel sooo sorry for my wonderful boyfriend matthew who is getting so much abuse these past two days!
One day left of being a fab slob! I tried on my marilyn monroe dress (as i call it) and it wouldnt get over my hips. Lat year it was a bit tight but it was wearable, now not so
Thanks for all the congrats on my exams everyone!!0 -
Hi again!
Thanks for all your help everyone! I seem to be doing well on the low carb thing at the moment. I asked about other diets as I didn't want to risk low carb during pregnancy/breastfeeding - so little research has been done. I'd love to have a few ideas in place so that I'm not caught out with a huge weight gain again if I decide to go for another child. My movement is mostly back to normal but walking/running will not be a feature of my exercise plan for a while! Cycling seems the safest option at the moment!
Managed to cycle 6 miles this evening, determined to do around 25 miles a week in short sessions. 20 is my minimum.
I am giving myself a treat every half stone, only 2lbs till my first one (13 1/2 st)!I'm going to have my hair done (haven't even had a haircut for 6 years so I think I can justify splashing out!) I fancy a perm - a symbol of no return perhaps! This will be the lowest weight I've been since the birth of my son (he's now 18 months)!
I am aiming for a minimum weight loss of 5lb a month, which will get me to my target weight by my son's third birthday, so in for the long haul!
Dragon my heart goes out to you. I know how hard it is to deal with chronic pain. At least the end is in sight for me. I think it is fantastic that you have managed to loose weight in spite of the pain.

Thanks for this, as I work a 2 week shift pattern, I do a two week shop in one go, I would also like to try and create a 2 week meal plan if I can.
Once I can get a meal plan organised, I'm hoping by doing home cooking it will become a formality.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

Hi Wendy,
I saw your sleeping problem and that you wanted some help. Well, I've got a few thoughts here, though we're all individuals so.....wait and see how it works for you and adapt as you think fit, but do get as much fresh air and even gentle exercise or strolls will all help each day.
Firstly, try giving in to that 6pm "feeling so tired" time. Let yourself go and have about 10 - 15 minutes, with instructions to your OH to call you 15 mins later. You'll then feel so much more refreshed - but it won't mess up your night's sleep. In fact it'll help it as it sounds as though you're getting over tired which then stops you sleeping when you should be.
Always sleep with windows open (except on foggy nights), the bedroom door too in this weather as it'll create some 'through draft'. If you do wake up in the night, don't toss and turn, just lie there on your back and without any music (because of OH) try relaxing your body and mind with exercises.
Firstly tense and relax all the muscles of the body, starting with the toes and feet and stretching them to the full, then just let them flop, then a real hard stretch (or a sort of pulling hard on all the muscles) of the legs muscles, hold and relax them; onto the butt and clench your buttocks hard for a few seconds - and flop. Move to your spine and pull it hard into the bed pulling your stomach in at the same time - hold then let them relax. On to the shoulders, pull them up towards your ears hard and hold, then gently push them away and down to your side again, stretch your fingers apart then flop. Finally pull your chin toward your chest to lengthen your neck and relax, then exercise all the muscles of the face really hard then stop and let yourself feel completely relaxed You may drop off to sleep during it all which will be great and mission complete, if you don't then at least if you've spent long enough relaxing you'll feel all stress gone and if you've played out one scene the try another and see the beauty there.
Now let your mind focus on a beautiful scene, a forest with a grassy glade in perhaps so you can actually see all the wonderful things you'd wish to whilst feeling the warm (not hot) sun shining on you and a gentle breeze making the leaves flutter on the trees above and around you. Then go through all the things of beauty that you'd see, smell or hear. A small stream rippling close by, lambs playing a little way off, rabbits sitting up and cleaning themselves, horses grazing in the glade, the gentle mooing of cows in the distance, birds singing while some bathe in a puddle or the gentle stream nearby. Some deer, unaware of you, eating the grass while their youngsters follow mum gently wherever she goes. The beautiful scent of wild honeysuckle fills the air and butterflies flutter around you, some settling on dandelions to take the nectar. Concentrate on your breathing so you breathe out as the gentle wind blows the leaves, then breathing in when the wind drops for a minute. Each time you breathe out be aware of it taking any strain or tension whilst each time you breathe in it's calming you throughout, keep it up as you see all the beauty around you.
Or maybe opt for a seaside trip on a beach where there's just you with the warm sun, palm trees (!) and calming waves gently coming up the golden sands. Just a few gulls drifting on and over the sea with their distant calls. Every time a wave goes out it's taking with it any tension or stress you have and every time a wave rolls in it's bringing a real calming to your body and mind. Concentrate on your breathing so you breathe out as the wave goes out and in when they come in. You know what I'm getting at a beautiful scene to enjoy, and hearing and seeing all the things you'd see or hear in it. Keep at it and see plenty of other beautiful things of your own! All the above can be done to relaxing music in the day, either on the sofa or bed.
I was going to send you a PM Wendy, but then wondered if others might get some benefit so here it is. All the best and I hope it works for you.

Morning folks
Wendy good to hear you are feeling better. If you're laying awake partly because your mind is still active, have you tried a notebook beside your bed so you can write down the ideas quickly and then deal with them in the morning? If anything in particular is bothering you, you could write those down before you even go to bed so that your mind is clear
I've had a difficult week here. My calories will be average about 1200/day and I've had decent exercise 6 days out of 7 but weight pattern has been strange, and I'm heavier now than I was Monday morning, with another unexplained 1.5lb gain overnight last night.
I'm now wondering if some of the new fruits & veg I'm introducing into my diet are playing havoc with my system. As I've mentioned before I have several fruit allergies and perhaps there is a connection. There is certainly something strange going on, because normally if I eat below my BMR daily (exercise or not) I will lose weight guaranteed
Guess it was the wrong week to start trying new stuff when I was so close to my mini target but hey, we live and learn, and it might not be that anyway.
So anyway I'm going to cut out any more "new" things for a couple of days, go back to eating the way I did the previous 2 weeks and see if that helps0
